Would you ever want to do skateboard graphics? Would love to have a board with your art on it :3

I would love to do skateboard art - my wife skates and I like to hang out at the skatepark we go to in the Summer and do like odd paint marker tagging around the bowls. I can't so much as roll around on a board myself but I adore them as objects. I've always idly hoped someone would approach me for a limited run of boards or something lol but it's unlikely since I don't really interact with the space.

is it okay to ask how One Thousand Heavens is going? im looking forward to it!

Slowly. Life is extremely, extremely stressful rn and I have a heavy game workload for Descent of Lunaris (Thankfully work I love doing!) and time is scarce. Like 3/5 of the remaining paintings for it are in a state of near completion.

what are some of your favourite details/features to work into your mechanical art? whether engineering wise, or greebles, or something else entirely.

I love dense piping. A mass of veinlike/organlike mettalic chambers and layered valves/tubes in the style of an aircraft engine interior is utterly irresistible to me. Takeya specifically is the master of this and i'm just aping him with my work on SZX etc.

What's your favorite stop-motion creature

There's a sequence at the climax of Keita Amemiya's Zeiram where the titular Zeiram attempts to reconstitute herself from a severely reduced state and the emergent organism is just exquisite. You could pick several different Amemiya creature features for this imo, between the spider-woman in Kamen Rider ZO and the "Kikaider" in Mechanical Violator.

Hi Francine! I can’t remember if I’ve seen fighting game stuff on your page but if you like them who is your favorite fighting game character visually-speaking?

It's Justice from Guilty Gear. I was going to ahh and umm about how I typically don't have favourites in an absolute sense and then give you several major names I enjoy like Devil Jin, Nightmare, Jinpachi, Oro, Jedah etc. but like

It's Justice. I'm obsessed w her and I wish I could BE her.

I don't have much in the way of a question, but rather a statement: I've been at your side ever since your tumblr days, and I am immensely proud how you've grown as a person and as an artist. We've never met or even spoken to one another, but I want you know that there is one Francine Appreciator out there who will never falter to support you in your endeavors!

It means an enormous amount to me that you've been with me all these years - the things i've accomplished so far and the things I have yet to do are only possible because of you and anyone else reading this who gave my work a chance. Thank you, deeply, sincerely. I hope I can continue to live up to the faith you've shown in me!

What animal/s would you like to try the meat of? Assuming it's all ethically sourced lol

Scores of different fish/seafood for sure, but it's maybe less new meats I wanna try and more like stuff I can barely find I wanna have again... I need more gator and more monkfish

Have you ever gotten art inspiration from food?

Yes actually! Often from trying new foods, especially preserved or marinated meats, tinned fish etc. There's something very stimulating about a strong flavour... aside from food itself, being in a butchers or a food market of some kind surrounded by ingredients hits so many mental buttons for me, I always come away invigorated. Something i used to love drawing a great deal I haven't in a while is scenes with piles of food, especially roast/prepared meat cuts... I have this one painting of a boar-man butcher in his store i've been thinking about revisiting for a while now..

Thoughts on the Hecahands monsters in yugioh? They're a new addition and probably the most horrifically good designs in recent memory imo.

Huge fan, eagerly anticipating getting my hands on some for the binder... Yadel and Godos especially are just exquisite. I truly wish they kept the original name though.... Hekatonkheir is a real word and I feel like appending "hands" to the name directly is a tacit admission they think the TCG audience are morons (Which... I mean...)
