you get to make a new game in any series: what series do you pick and whats your idea for the new game
okay so there's a few, but the big one I want is genuinely a game I've wanted the opportunity to make FOREVER
I didn't mean for that to be a reference to the series but
I want to make the fifth mainline Duke Nukem game. Duke V Duke, where Duke Nukem is plucked out of time on September 10th, 2001 and sent to the far future of 2021, where Duke made good on his promise to run for president at the end of Duke Nukem Forever and is now serving his third term as the despotic leader of a crumbling America. a group of rebels, figuring that the only person who could possibly stop Duke is Duke himself, grabbed a version of him from a time when he was still considered something of a hero and icon, but hadn't become jaded and ruined like he was by Forever
basic grunt enemies are these T-800 versions of Duke, black leather jacket, sunglasses, because all Duke can ever really create are pastiches because he's not exactly creative, not even in the future. he basically just tells everyone around him what he wants and has them do all the work for him. every so often you'll get bigger enemies, a bit more flavour, but everything is all Duke throwing his glory days at Past Duke and him having to deal with that shit
I'd like it to be kinda very lightly im-sim like, where you're given a lot of paths to take per-level, all based around the idea that Duke Nukem as a series has really leaned a lot towards environmental interactivity since 3D and I think that's something that should be explored more. you don't have a massive arsenal at your disposal but there should be plenty of stuff in the environment to use to fight with. Duke probably loves the second amenedment so you can get guns easily, but you'll get more use out of blowing up a canister of shrinker ammo to shrink an entire sphere around them into a tiny spot, stuff like that
and I don't really want to change Duke as a character dramatically, but I do want this game to sort of bring him in line with the way a lot of people treat him now, especially through Gianna Matragiano clips, where he's a sort of crude but supportive meathead. he could start as the old version of Duke but the game would gradually make him into that version of himself. by the end of it, he'd have to kill his future self and then go back in time as a slightly new version of himself, and that could dovetail nicely into the Duke Nukem Forever Restoration Project, which would be made the canon version of Forever
also they'd fuck up sending him back so he'd show up on September 12th and that's why he didn't stop 9/11
