hello all,

what does music do for you? would you say it's a core aspect of your living, or who you are? do you feel the same way about music as you do the other arts—like films?

additionally, you should give me a song/a few songs/an album that you think shaped you, or is you, or whatever. that was there for you? maybe?

I think all forms of art have influenced me, some more than others. I'd say dance is the least influential, though I do appreciate the skill and artistry it takes. I think musical and visual arts have had the most impact on me. Music is quite important to me, not precisely the core of me but like a companion I can always rely on to make me feel something, discover something, or of sorts. I like finding myself or finding others through forms of art, music (like all forms of art) reflects aspects of life, so I try to find whatever music has me or the ones I care about within them. It's like a looking glass? I guess?

As for music that has changed me, I'd have to say September by Sparky Deathcap (it's my favourite song of all time). As for artists, Crywank is probably the top one that has always been there with me. Los Campesinos! is (one of) the first band I could actually say I'm a big fan of, as before I never actually had a favourite artist.

Unfortunately, the way I found out about those artists is because of... Err... W-lbur Soot and Lovejoy. I have to unfortunately admit that these two have shaped my tastes when I was a wee lad in puberty. I stopped liking them after W-lbur was revealed to be an abuser. Man.
