Homo sapiens had sex with Neanderthals. As of now, it's considered interspecies sex.

So, when we're drawn to interspecies or hybrid romance in fiction today -do you think that's some deep, ancestral echo?
Or is this just a modern fantasy we use to deal with our own fears about connecting with people who feel radically different from us?

Rather than fears, I think we fantasize about interspecies and hybrids because of the freedom in their passion.

Most stories I've read, and written, have eventually lead to humans giving in to primal urges.. instinct.. No longer having to hold back, worry, or think, even.. They just do.
And as humans, we can't just "do" there is consequences and morality.. but in primal states, there's no such thing.
So.. yeah, in my opinion, it's the freedom.
