OKAY SO if i were a gym leader/elite four member (yes i am adding that), i would probably specialize in normal or water types. my signature pokémon for each type would be stoutland/blissey/staraptor or gastrodon/quagsire/milotic.

unfortunately, i like giovanni’s gym design, so i may take inspiration from his layout (labyrinth, directional pads, etc.). i also like lenora’s gym design (BOOKS) but i’m not sure i want challengers to search for the lever to the secret entrance. maybe just for theming? i want a layout that’s possible to navigate without fighting any of the trainers in the gym, but i also want it to be difficult to navigate. something like wrong timing, wrong directional pad, and then surprise! a trainer!

if the challenger defeats me, i want to give away an absolutely mental TM but i'm not sure what it would be. retaliate/swords dance or flip turn/scald maybe? imagine getting swords dance from a gym leader LMAOOOOOO
