i almost never really consider myself the “#1 fan” of most things i like, since i don’t want to put myself in a hierarchy with other fans based on how extreme we are. i think we all enjoy it in our own way and have a special personal connection to it, and determining who’s the number one is gonna be subjective anyway.

i do take the #1 fan title sometimes in a way to simply express i am super passionate about something, and also when it's something that's not popular. it may threaten me when not worded politely, but i am very open to criticisms and corrections about things i love! learning more about those is usually the biggest part of my fangirling, so why wouldn’t i like getting enlightened about errors with how i perceive something if it helps me understand what i love better? yeah and as long as the discussions and debates are respectful, i enjoy them
