hi hi! i saw you mentioned about not liking choking the other day. i've tried it irl and its a lot of fun, i have some good recs for you if you want! i think you'd like it if you tried it!
hello, this is a very delayed response because i was locked out of alterspring for awhile.
tbc not liking something does not mean i have not tried it. which btw i have on both sides, its a bit presumptuous of you to assume i hadn't tried it. or that you could convince me to like it. i would especially caution you against acting like this in relation to choking/breathplay as it is quite a triggering topic for many and their dislike of it may be related to trauma.
i don't want choking recs because i know what i do and don't like, and where my boundaries are.
hai hai sass~ whatās your favourite trope to write? is it any different than your favourite to read?~
hihi mila!!
i think with reading i go through phases a lot but i always love fantasy and historical settings. for actual tropes i always love the 'blah' to lovers tropes. i like to 'watch' the characters fall in love and the small acts that shift a relationship along. i'm also a big fan of 'soulmates by choice' trope, the fuck the universe i choose you vibes are always delicious to me. and forced proximity tropes too, including fake relationships, bodyguard aus and 'oops only one bed'.
favourite to write is hard because i don't think i really come up with fic ideas around tropes. but i'd say i do love a meet cute/strangers to lovers situation when writing too. i love to writing banter and flirting. anything that involves tension i think. again i love writing in a fantasy/historical setting too.
hello !! was wondering :3 what is your favorite WIP rn??
genuinely asking, why do you follow an OT8 fest that purposely exclude a specific ship?
hi,
in case you didn't see i answered this pretty thoroughly under the og post that was a ss of the following list. that post is now delted but you can still see how i responded to that.

i stand by what i said about policing the follows on that account not being a productive way to respond to it. i'd already unfollowed by the time i saw the post with the ss, because my tl was full of discussion about it and i knew i would recieve updates regardless. and obviously i don't check my alterspring very often so i didn't see this until well after that point too. i instead chose to talk about and share the fest that i'm excited for because i feel like they enrich my experience in this community.
my genuine question is, did you think that someone who has primarily written mnsvng fics, is clearly a mnh and jsvng bias, and talks about both of them all the time, was a anti-mnsvnger? i'm not trying to be rude, but this is something about the situation i didn't understand. even to get here to my alterspring you presumably had to go to my profile, which would have shown that i'm a mnsvng fan.
Do you have any advice on finding or creating your writing style/voice? And do you think you chnage styles based on genre?
mousie i'm sorry it took me so long to answer this. i think i remember seeing an excellent response from bunny and i thought i couldn't do better than that. then the adhd got me and i forgot. i don't remember bunny's response exactly anymore, so if there is some crossover please forgive me.
i'd say i can be a bit inconsistent with style depending on my factors. a big part of it is definitely that i'm finding my feet with writing again after long time not doing it. i'd say famine and the feast was the first time i felt like i'd found some of my voice again, and then again with cracked and your touch embroiders me. genre does effect your voice/stylistic choices sometimes i think, or simply some genres fit more naturally with some styles.
i think one of the best pieces of advice for improving your writing in anyway is to read. reading others can teach you sm about writing, and also importantly your own tastes. my advice would be to read and think more consciously/deeply about what is you do and don't like or what does/doesn't work for you. revisit your favourites, what is it about them that grips you? how does it grip you? learning to read more deeply helps will reveal a lot about style and narrative voice to you. it's also useful to apply the same thinking/evaluating to other media.
then, think deeply about yourself/your own writing. what about it do you like or fills you with pride? what parts of your writing do you dislike, and why? understanding yourself helps you direct your attention and energy with writing. i've personally found it helps you build your own instincts and intuition too.
i'm a big believer in finding ways to write/work that work for you. i tried to be a 'planner' for years, and tried emulate so many different methods of story planning. however, none of them worked for and would ultimately lead me to being too frustrated to even write. i've found a way to very loosely plan that helps me guide my writing, without overwhelming me. however you plan, or don't, when writing having a strong sense of your characters and setting is really important. i like to think about the story I want to tell and who the characters are. sometimes i'll write this down as dot points, sometimes it just lives in my head. having thought through these points helps guide me and keep me on track while writing .

helloo may i yap about miso in here? the pretties please ever?
What app do you use for making your moodboard?
Do you make moodboards or Playlist to accompany ur fics?
hi mousie!
i pretty much always make moodboards for my fics these days. i never used to, but since i got back into writing last year i've found it really helpful. it's nice to have them as like a 'cover' for the fic on a promo post. but i also make them and insert them at the top of the doc while i'm writing. i find them a good way to remind of the vibe/mood of the fic. and sometimes looking for images for it and making them directly inspires certain scenes/settings in the fic. when i was making my moobboard for in the mist i found this image of statues of hands clustered together and it inspired 'the Agnoy' location in the fic. or for your touch embroiders me i found some pictures that were essentially ballet dancer thirst traps, and it inspired the section of the fic where mnh starts sending jsvng thirst traps everyday.
playlists i don't do so much. i do listen to music or watch shows while i write, but i think i find moodboards more helpful because it helps prompt visual ideas for me which i struggle with because of aphantasia. i did make a playlist for your touch embroiders me which i looped on repeat for months, and ended up giving me the title of the fic. other than that there may be a song i listen to a lot when i write a fic, but i wouldn't say its common.
hi sass!! do you have any big fic ideas that you've had for the longest time that you haven't gotten to writing yet or are just waiting to write for a later time? :)))
hi lydia!!
the graveyard of my docs is filled with stuff like this i think. or just, stuff i've been working on for a really long time š probably my biggest one is the first ever skz fic i wrote, mnsvng obviously. it's the one i call my 'memory gain fic'- mnh gets hit on the head and gets fake memories of him and jsvng being together. i started writing it in december 2023. its actually fully written (59k!!) it just really needs editing, and because it was so long ago now when i wrote it i'd like to rewrite parts of it. but i do love the premise and some of the scenes in it. my goal was orginally to get it out this year finally, but i'm not sure if i'll make that now. msf took up so much of my time earlier in the year, and now slickfest is kicking my arse. hopefully one day...
