very perfunctory thing I wanted to bring up, but afaik men will routinely use ‘omae’ as a pronoun to any male they are close to, within a similar age of them. kimi is also a regularly used pronoun between men and close opposite-sex friends, and I see anata is used very variably but often reserved for formal situations and opposite-sex interactions. there could’ve been other parts of kei that were rude on iland, but I think his language was totally acceptable given the context of the show + his age
