Alterspring is about to become the biggest retrospring site on the internet (yes even bigger than the racist one you all know what i mean) but it still costs us time and money to keep it online. please consider donating to our ko-fi to help keep the service online. we really appreciate every bit! Hey i really love your fic. And i also like how dimensional you make K is, like there is a splash of introspection (maybe a little guilt also?) over his relationship with Taki. and the scene where he looks at himself in the mirror; I mean, I always get a feeling K is someone who thinks about himself and his relation to the world, he is earnest and brave to chase what he wants, andthe scene fits him perfectly: confronting his desire head on
oh yeah he's feeling a lot of introspection and i think the guilt is subconscious right now because he hasn't been held up to the mirror wrt his own actions yet. i don't think he really understands the line he crossed fully. like he's guilty but he's soooo enmeshed with taki and in the very middle of the relationship.
i think your interpretation of the mirror scene is so interesting! i think i wrote it with a completely different aim in mind--to show yudai is constantly being confronted with himself and the ways that he has changed and how--like fucking taki--the vanity is a coping method to sort through how he feels about being an idol, and everything he had to give up and change to do that. but i like your interpretation too! thats why i like discussing this stuff, there's no right answer even tho i wrote it. your interpretation is fascinating and unique too!
