Hey! I'd love to hear more thoughts or see resources you have on age regression vs. age play. I've seen a lot of very strong opinions about the distinction lately and would be interested to hear the perspective you're coming to it from!
Hi! What a great question, thank you for asking! First and foremost I do want to give an update that I am working on a notion page for this event that will have links to more in-depth information on the subject, which will be shared soon! The resources will be able to speak on the matter much better than I personally can, but you can rest assured that my own approach to this is informed by evidence-based research, formal knowledge on mental health, and personal experience interacting with people who experience age regression.
In my own personal opinion, (which again, take with a grain of salt until seeing the research yourself), the biggest thing to note is that age regression on its own is entirely separate from BDSM. There are several kinksters and non-kinksters alike who experience age regression regularly, and it has nothing inherently to do with BDSM, kink, or sex. It is a coping mechanism that anyone can develop or engage with in response to stress, whereas age play is a role-play scenario that two parties may choose to engage in regardless of if age regression is also present or not. To put it simply, age regression is a conscious/unconscious state of mind, and age play is a conscious action.
I hope this answers your question! More information and resources will be available soon :)
