hiiiii idk if this was intentional but the example tag set that was linked hasn't been made visible to the public
Thank you so much for letting me know! It has now been fixed :)
Hey! I'd love to hear more thoughts or see resources you have on age regression vs. age play. I've seen a lot of very strong opinions about the distinction lately and would be interested to hear the perspective you're coming to it from!
Hi! What a great question, thank you for asking! First and foremost I do want to give an update that I am working on a notion page for this event that will have links to more in-depth information on the subject, which will be shared soon! The resources will be able to speak on the matter much better than I personally can, but you can rest assured that my own approach to this is informed by evidence-based research, formal knowledge on mental health, and personal experience interacting with people who experience age regression.
In my own personal opinion, (which again, take with a grain of salt until seeing the research yourself), the biggest thing to note is that age regression on its own is entirely separate from BDSM. There are several kinksters and non-kinksters alike who experience age regression regularly, and it has nothing inherently to do with BDSM, kink, or sex. It is a coping mechanism that anyone can develop or engage with in response to stress, whereas age play is a role-play scenario that two parties may choose to engage in regardless of if age regression is also present or not. To put it simply, age regression is a conscious/unconscious state of mind, and age play is a conscious action.
I hope this answers your question! More information and resources will be available soon :)
The way that I've had a biological BDSM/classification AU that I've been plotting for ages but honestly was too scared to post because of How This Fandom Is....but then saw that you created this and I am SO excited!!!! I do have a question: if we have READ (but not written ourselves) an AU like this, are we able to send it in somehow as a recommendation for others who might enjoy it? Not right away ofc, you're still getting things set up, but at some point in the future? TYSM for this, seriously.
I am so happy to hear that this helps provide you with a sense of renewed excitement and optimism! Also, highlighting existing creators is a wonderful idea! I would love to platform ideas and works from the community once this event is fully up and running. If you'd like to DM with a fic link, or even better share the fic promo from the author's twt acc, I would love to reach out to the authors(s) to see if they want to opt in to have their works shared in a space that isn't the one that they themselves curate. Thank you so much for reaching out!
the roll out was quick yes but I like the framework and will support the works that come from this! thank you for building a more inclusive space!
Thank you for saying so! I got a little overly excited and spent almost six hours straight getting everything set up and it kinda got to a point where I was like well! I finished it! I could just post! And couldn’t stop myself😅 I’m really really passionate about this topic and love talking/learning about it, but I need to take a breath!!
My goal for this event isn’t really to create a “bang” of fanworks, but more to provide a space where people who want to try creating either of these wonderful AUs can give it a go!! There’s no claiming, no check-in, no deadline, no posting period. Round 1 ends at the end of this year but Round 2 will start on the 1st day of next year! Create and post whenever it makes sense for you!!
I really just want this to exist as a reminder that anything is worth creating, that there are people who want to help you create what you consider worth creating, and that there are people who want to read that thing that is worth creating. So yeah!! I’m yapping again omg. I just really hope this becomes an easygoing environment for people who want to engage with classification AUs and BDSM AUs!!
