so tired of people saying suguru calling people "monkeys" is related to buddhism and pointing out the fact that he's wearing a traditional buddhist robe as if people, especially BLACK poc are crazy for pointing out the racist undertones. he literally adopted the term from toji who saw himself as inferior as a result of his upbringing, it's meant to be self deprecating and suguru uses it to dehumanize non sorcerers. there's literally a scene where manami goes, "I can't believe we're the same species" after suguru kills that man. black poc were and still are referred to as monkeys and seen as primitive, subhuman beings by fucking racists! it's not crazy to see the correlation.
i agree. even if geto’s intent isn’t racist, monkey is still a loaded word and using it for a group of people you consider beneath you carries certain connotations regardless of intent. japanese people were called monkeys in american ww2 propaganda and east asians have used it against southeast asians in a racist way for a long time, so it’s not like this is some word without baggage in a japanese context either

Ven's mom gojo post was said bc it started with gegos attacking g*ges for feminine geto by making him mom, then the OP replied that gegos do the same and its ok by both sides do the same. No one is hating on the mom gojo post, it started with gegos hating g*ge mom geto or feminize geto posts

I feel bad for ven. Her super mom gojo tweet is once again getting dragged into t/b discourse when the tweet itself never mentioned geto 💀 and it’s from 2023 too. They’re trying to use it as “proof” of gegos feminizing gojo
i haven’t been keeping up but i don’t really get this discourse? like the feminizing thing is so weird to me as a discourse topic because almost everyone does that with their fav to some degree. it only gets weird for me when it’s based on things like physical features or racial/misogynistic stereotypes, like when someone says a character is submissive because he looks the most asian or feminine or something

i literally used to prefer goge and was a geto fan first and foremost but that side of twt is so toxic by mindlessly attacking everybody else who doesn’t have that dynamic or ship as their fav or doesn’t worship geto and it’s so exhausting 😭 like geto has the biggest boymom fans ever and i still love him i just now am 80% gego for my own sanity
i’ve heard this from so many people at this point. and like i get the urge to defend your fav, i do it with gojo a lot 💀 but there will always be people who dislike a character especially when they’re a villain. and the thing with them is that they don’t even really do it in defense a lot of the time, they just randomly start shit by going after other ships unprovoked and i don’t know what’s up with that but i think it fits with all the popularity anons i get too because they’re always trying to prove they’re the superior ship. like why does that matter so much to them, it kind of just sounds like insecurity. also i never understood people letting a fandom affect how they feel about a character before but i do get it now because i remember how my love for geto took a dip somewhere during the worst of it and it recovered but still
