i would say so, yes. i always make an effort to try and expand my vocabulary, not just to sound smart, but to understand how to communicate better, as i've always struggled with that in all sense of the word. though i understand that nowadays most phrases and words are being simplified, and my efforts are/were, in fact, in vain... ㅠ_ㅠ i feel like i understand much more of the english language than my real life peers, but that isn't saying much considering the ranking my state is in when it comes to education. instead of using it to express myself, i think i mostly just used it (opening up my vocabulary and learning more about the words im using) in more of an educational way, as when im with friends or people im comfortable with, i talk MUCH much more informally about my feelings and thoughts. cries..,,,helppp i'm so tiredddd.,,,,....
