i appreciate the fact that this thing, out of everything i've made, has a (small) cult following but i don't think there's anything making me want to revisit the story 😭 besides the fact that i basically already said everything i wanted to say, i think the VN is heavily tied into the context of its game jam

i would tell him to watch the keith ballard video for advice (likely necessary clarification: not a value judgement about it one way or another but only a joke about how many new FVN devs have mentioned having been inspired by it)

in terms of what i'd like to see more on the mainstream/commercial side of things, more directors need to get comfortable with pulling the camera back a bit and letting the shot linger. i remember watching Lav Diaz's MAGELLAN earlier this year and absolutely loving all the gorgeous tableaus... would be nice to see more of that, cinema right now feels so in love with claustrophobic close-ups and medium shots
