there's something so wonderful about the thought of james drinking more than he should and getting all giggly and soft and pliable with everyone around him. Leaning his head on the person next to him or rubbing his head into someone's chest or clinging onto a strong arm because he's so clearly touch-starved. his friends enjoying the affection, watching his smile turn all gooey and his face get all red, and he's so receptive to just about anything they just can't help but touch him a little, slip a hand under his shirt to see how he reacts. And he's saying no because he's still somewhat conscious, but it just comes out all weak and whiney instead because his body doesn't listen, won't ever listen, and when he wakes up he feels sick to his fucking stomach as bits of it begin to flash into his consciousness. but james is james so of course he'll repress it and interpret it as just his average experience with alcohol.
