I'm here after reading 'if the birds come singing' and I'm so intrigued!
I love when authors venture in omegaverse and come out with the most creative and fascinating stories (I never get tired of the genre.. but it's nice to have new perspectives)
I'd love to hear more about the story if you have anything to share, like how did the idea come to your mind? and why are you set on hurting us (I want to punch a hole in the wall, I'm so week for omega sung in distress. Felix getting protective over him and being the pack omega eats her fist and I want to smack minho on the head 'WAKE THE FUCK UP!') The whole scene with the meal and jisung instinctively calling and wanting to provide for minho as a mate (I shed a few tears actually) I'm never recovering crawls into a ball on the bed and sobs

First of all thanks for reading, I’m glad you’re enjoying the fic, although sorry about the pain of the yearn.
This is a super fun question. I love omegaverse because of flexibility for play and worldbuilding. There are some set tropes like knotting and slicking but I find that it’s pretty easy to subvert tropes and make it your own without too much of a learning curve for your reader.
For me in particular, I loveee when the animal instincts of omegaverse are drawn out. I think it can raise stakes and add a lot of drama and angst and yearning. I didn’t originate the concept of chirping omegas by any means. I’ve seen it in other skz fic and a lot in BTS fic as well! There is one BTS ot7 fic in particular where the author really drove up the codependency of the omegas within a pack dynamic which I thought was really interesting and tasty so if I had to point to a specific piece of inspiration I’d say that fic!
Independent of omegaverse dynamics, my brain is wired to think “how can I stick Felix in the middle of this” regardless of the pairing 😭. My bias even in fic.
