I LOVEEEEEE THIS SONG SO MUCH. Genuinely one of my all time favorite songs. I have three recommendations (one you already know well).

four times around the sun by dustshells: 2min - A SAD ONE. A lot of the lyrics of peas talks about silence and love and the concept of not being able to follow your lover into their dreams... this fic is very much following your lover into their dream while the world falls apart around you (please mind the tags but a very spot on rec)

murmuration by daisier: minsung - you already know this one well but i think the lyrics and general vibe are very spot on (a lot about aching and dreaming and hnnghhgh it just fits so well).

I’m on such a roommates kick rn but been obsessed with the concept of Minho who works as a choreographer at an entertainment company and has been assigned to a debut group that is doing really well which is great but it means Minho’s schedule gets really erratic and he has to leave his cats alone longer than he’d like. Instead of getting a cat sitter he decides to start renting out the second room at reduced rent so long as the tenant also agrees to spend time with his cats.

Enter Felix, up and coming twitch streamer. He’s the perfect fit because he’s pretty much home all day streaming trying to build up his subs. So Felix moves in with his bright pink gamer chair and kitty headphone gaming mic set and LED customized keyboard and monitors. He sets up a cat tree in his room and is kind and respectful toward the cats. They get along like a dream and more often than not Minho will come home to find all three of them sleeping on top of Felix or curled up next to him on the couch.

Always, Minho begins to realize, the couch. It takes nearly a month of living together for him to realize that the reason he always sees Felix asleep on the couch is because Felix doesn’t actually have a mattress in his bedroom. In fact Felix doesn’t have a lot of belongings besides his gaming set up and a dresser full of his clothing.

Minho wants to ask him about it but it feels intrusive and while they got along well they don’t exactly hang out. They haven’t had the opportunity with Minho’s packed schedule.

It finally comes up one night Felix comes home late on an unusual Saturday night out with his friends, tipsy and stumbling. Minho was watching anime in the dark on the couch and remained unbothered until Felix tries to make ramyeon and burnt himself on the stove.

“Aish,” Minho yells and practically jumped ten feet in the air when Felix yelps and spills the burning liquid on the floor. “Get away from the stove!”

Felix yelps again and then scampers away, burning his fingers in the process but sitting obediently at the table while Minho mops up the mess and gives him a bag of frozen spinach to rest his tender paws on.

After he deals with the mess, he starts a new pot and makes Felix sit and eat where Minho can supervise. Felix goes willingly, meek and obediently slurping, slightly clumsy around his now bandaged fingers.

But then he starts sniffling around a rehydrated shiitake mushroom.

“What’s wrong?” Minho asks.

“Won’t be able to stream tomorrow. My fingies…”

Minho is unsurprised but helplessly endeared that Felix is the type of person to say “fingies” unironically.

“We all have to take time off from work sometimes,” he reasons.

“Don’t want to let them down,” Felix murmurs.

“You’re not letting them down. You’re taking care of yourself.”

“I dunno,” Felix mutters before the tears started in earnest, seemingly beside himself.

Minho doesn’t know him well enough at that point to know if they are drunk tears or if the kid is truly that torn up about missing a streaming day but he hardly considers his own words before he started speaking again.

“I have tomorrow off too. Spend time with hyung. We can watch those streamer speed runs you like.”

“You watch speed runs?”

“I don’t but I’ll start tomorrow.”

Felix perks up, successfully distracted by the offer. At which point Felix asks if maybe they can cuddle on the couch while they watch and Minho sees his window of opportunity.

“About that… I’ve noticed you don’t have a bed,” he says as gently as possible.

The gentleness is deserved because his words send Felix into another bout of tears as he explains that he had a storage unit in the city where he was keeping his things while he went back to Australia for a few months and the whole thing flooded but he doesn’t have the money to replace his stuff yet. He’s tearful because he’s felt bad about sleeping on the couch without telling Minho the truth.

Minho is so endeared at that point that he tentatively offers his own bed, for as long as Felix needs. So Felix takes his one pillow and plushie that survived the flooding and follows Minho into his bedroom and the cuddle together that night and every night after. Felix never does end up getting a new mattress for his room because now he can share with hyung :)

happy New Year’s Eve sol of solarfyn ao3 fame!! While I am obsessed with the concept of a gremlin-style Felix the friendly ghost who is the roommate seungmin didn’t know he needed, the reality of Felix ghost means he’s not Around and I cannot handle that in my brain. Although the concept of seungmin leaving out his beyblade kit one night when he gets a little drunk and nostalgic and then waking up in the early early morning to ghost Felix playing with with them. He’s so half asleep he just starts bey blading with him. I imagine Felix would be very much cat with zoomies style ghost with a sort of “do you have games on your phone child in a waiting room” charm and Seungmin would tend to him with the same care as a high maintenance houseplant. But I’m not gonna think about that. I’m not.
