How do you combine writing, reading, journaling, work, social,... so well? I'm always so jealous seeing your lovely, whimsical life TT

hi!!! well first of all, thank you for the compliment, that's really nice of you to say! i don't think i have a magic formula, but i think i'm just really meticulous with my time and i work really hard to make time to fit everything i enjoy into my day-to-day. that looks different everyday though and i have adhd as well, so some days are harder than others. sometimes i'll go days not reading so i can make time for a busy work schedule or i'll read more and not have many plans with friends with weekends. i think it's just deciding which things you want to focus more on in the moment and reminding yourself you can pick something back up if you set it down.

for instance, i'm taking a writing break currently as i want to focus more on work and some leadership things that i'm involved in this year! but i think on a smaller level, it's really about fitting things in where you can. i read in the mornings on my commute and then journal after work. sometimes i'll see a friend for coffee before work or for dinner after. i always tell myself there's 24 hours in a day and i can use them however i'd like for as little or as long as i'd like! sometimes if i'm scrolling for too long on my phone, i remind myself i can use that time to read a bit or go on a walk, or sort of multitask a couple of time if i can (i.e. junk journaling to an audiobook that i'm alternating w a physical book) or just scroll for a bit because i'm resting anyway.

i have a pretty busy and stressful job but i make a point to have things to look forward to so it's not just all work and no play even though i really love what i do. i like reminding myself that even though things are busier, i'm lucky to have something to fill my time but there are also moments in between to fill with things that bring me joy.

lastly, i'd also say i appreciate the admiration but it's nothing to be jealous over! i think anyone can make it work for them and it's just a matter of figuring out what works for you. try not to be so hard on yourself if stuff doesn't always fit, and let yourself be more flexible! you good luck!!!
