when i first got into nidjae, i honestly thought i was going crazy because the way sy treats yj feels really different from how he treats everyone else. there’s always this kind of… “authoritative” aura whenever sy is with yj, and because their personalities are so different, i kept thinking… is this relationship going to be ok?! LOL (ch1 of btbl is basically a breakdown of how i personally interpret each member’s relationship with sy!)

then i found out about their fight where sy kicked everyone out so he could talk to yj one on one. in the first place, i don’t think yj is the type to confront people at all, and he’s way too gentle to get agitated like that. so i ended up concluding that because their personalities clash so much, sy somehow has the ability to draw out yj’s hot blooded side! lol

since yj is the type to internalize everything, if he ever does explode it would probably be a disaster right?! quiet people are always like that… actually it’s kind of funny because i was already convinced nidjae must have fought at least once just based on how different their communication styles are, and then i found out about their campfire fight after!! @.@

i also think yj being part of the hyung line contributes to sy being stricter with him. yj is someone who always performs well, rarely makes mistakes (for example: during year end shows where he gets really important roles, like performing the double dutch), and he isn’t as outwardly emotional as some of the other members. because of that, i’ve always had this feeling that sy might hold yj to a higher standard than the others. sometimes sy’s attitude toward yj can seem a bit cold because of it, but there are also moments where he’s really warm with him too. they have something like a hot and cold dynamic, which i thought was really interesting!! @.@

oh my gosh i ended up writing a whole analysis lol. but because there are so many irl coincidences with btbl, so i wanted to share a bit of the thought process that goes into writing it! :D

fyi this analysis is purely for fanfiction purposes so please don’t take it too literally… i obviously can’t know nidjae’s real relationship, and i only interpret what i see on camera~
