no but in this clip i think jy was a little too hung up on the word "instant" when jk was literally referring to the instant curry roux blocks that most people use. unless you're a chef or someone who's actually skilled enough to make the curry base from scratch, the blocks are the standard way to make it. he should've emphasized from the start that peeling all those vegetables without a peeler was the hard part bc that's literally the most believable explanation for why it took him three hours. i kinda agree with hoon that this was more about his pride being hurt by the fact that something he'd taken the initiative to do himself didn't turn out as impressive as he might've wanted it to, rather than him feeling genuinely hurt his hard work wasn't being appreciated.

but seriously, i can point out plenty of moments where the members were genuinely being unnecessarily rude to him, but i think this whole curry thing is being overglazed by fans bc it's not like the members were completely helpless and couldn't feed themselves without him. curry wasn't even something the members had asked him to make in the first place. he was the one who came up with the idea, wanted to cook it for them, and was bragging about it from the start. he even turned down their offers to help. so this whole curry thing is more about the members letting him have his moment back then to reinforce his own "chef of the group" image rather than it being an "he wanted to make sure his members ate well"

honestly i don't think that jk was intentionally mocking him 😭 its mor… — i don't think so either i think jake just doesn't realise the things he says can hurt jay. it's interesting because sunghoon… https://alterspring.org/@muteglass/a/117510698273761922

eh i see it more as jay getting annoyed because someone who didn't go through the things he did (i.e. cooking the curry) was speaking over him and disregarding his experiences. i understand why he'd get annoyed at what jake said. and rather than wanting to be the "chef of the group" he wanted to do something for his members who he loves. sharing good food with them is his love language as shown by the many times he's either cooked for them or brought them to restaurants
