Pre-debut to boys planet:

• they met in cube and trained together (the assumption is that they only overlapped for a maximum of 5 months but we're not really sure how long they were there together)
• hanbin's first impression of matthew is that he was muscular but he's very cute. it was only when matthew called him "hyong~" that hanbin realized that matthew was younger skskgk

• they were roommates (oh my god they were roommates...)
• they did a lot of things together when they were trainees - sneaked out in the middle of the night to eat chicken, went on drives, went stargazing, went on dates @ hongdae
• when hanbin left cube, he gave matthew a letter in english (he translated using papago) where hanbin said he's sorry they couldn't debut together, and matthew still keeps that letter in his wallet to this day (2025 update: matthew STILL has that letter in his wallet)

• when matthew wanted to go back home to canada, hanbin took him to a cafe to try to convince him to stay and try auditioning to boys planet with him (one last time, hanbin says). here are the things hanbin did to convince matthew: 1. he bought him food, 2. he showed matthew videos of his performances and told him that he can definitely do it. bc one thing you should do to someone you've only known for a year is to ask them to stay despite everything being uncertain skdkskfd. the good news is: matthew trusted hanbin and look where they are now <3

• also on episode 1, hanbin cried while watching matthew's star level test (when i saw this i Knew i was LOCKED IN. also it didn't make sense to me at the time why he would cry - he only said that watching matthew dance and look so happy made him emotional - but when he revealed that HE was the one who brought matthew here, HE was the one who convinced him to stay, it all made sense)
• on january 29, 2023, they went to a jewelry workshop and had custom engraved matching rings that they both wore in bp (3rd and 4th pic). fun fact: hanbin posted the draft of the drawings (3rd pic) engraved on their rings without context like he just assumed everyone knows what it means 😭😭; update 2025: it is now confirmed that hanbin lost the first ring in the practice room during boys planet, and matthew lost his in the shower (https://x.com/myseokryudan/status/1941064512377171969)
• (some time in february 2023?) hanbin went on a solo trip to jeju, but before that he met up with matthew - they took the legendary 4cut and they were wearing their matching rings!!!!!!!! • jongwoo said in a bp interview: “K-Group’s Seok matthew is Sung hanbin, and G-Group’s Sung hanbin is Seok matthew” which just tells me that they’re equals in terms of skill

• in an extra bp content called planet quiz show, hanbin unknowingly picked a question about matthew. Before he was told what the question was, he was asked what he wants to say to matthew and he did matthew’s greeting (ily iwy smt) which was THE ANSWER TO THE QUESTION (https://x.com/timetohanbin/status/1770828234281595343) // things to note: everyone there reacted like this is a really easy question for hanbin to answer and he SHOULD know the answer bc it’s about matthew; after hanbin “answered”, everyone was cheering for them and you can hear seongmin in the background saying “GET MARRIED!!”; this is a bit tinhat but if you think abt junhyeon asking “what do you want to say to matthew”, hanbin said I LOVE YOU, I WANT YOU and, well… WELL!??!?
• other mattbin things that happened in bp: during their signal song practice, choi youngjoon had the k-group and g-group do a little one on one competition of some sort and he chose hanbin and matthew to go against each other, hanbin called matthew his “rival”, they were p01 and p02 for the first eliminations, they were in the same group for the first time with say my name
• hanbin’s friends told the viewers to vote for matthew as well!
• matthew’s uncle went to hanbin’s mom’s cafe to give away cheesecakes and coffee bread
• the bp finale moments at the podium (u know the ones)

Post-debut and other stuff (not in chronological order)

• Aside from the matching rings, they also have A TON of matching items - jackets, cardigans, pants, shoes, hats, etc
• matthew said in a fansign that the members who give the best hugs are hanbin and gunwook. In a later fancall, matthew said that hanbin’s hugs feel like he’s being protected 🫂 (in a recent fansign, - - matthew answered hanbin as the one he wants to be protected by)
• September 12, 2023 - they were together the whole day just dancing together, doing a cover of dance by jimmy brown, filming their click like challenge
• October 8, 2023 - they never talked about this but someone saw them at hongdae late at night (there were pictures)
• December 19, 2023 - they went on a lunch date together and hanbin said he saw the first snow while he was with matthew <3 they also bought their favorite cookies and took pictures on the street~
• January 29, 2024 - THEY WENT ON A DATE @ HONGDAE again they never talked about this but someone saw them together… they went shopping~~ the crazy thing abt this is january 29 is the anniversary of their matching rings. SOOOOOO
• hanbin mentioned in a japanese magazine interview that he can put matthew to sleep within 10 seconds by patting his head. Since then he can’t stop mentioning it and he keeps emphasizing that he’s the one who can put matthew to sleep the best.. Okay dude
• Apparently they sleep together when they have schedules the next day, to which matthew says, they sleep together even if they don’t have schedules
• hanbin signed his birthday letter for matthew this year with “from.your sleeping pillows”
• matthew was asked in a fansign which member’s house does he want to go to the most and he answered hanbin’s (even though he went there probably many times already - hanbin mentioned this before too)

• yaebin (matthew’s sister) said in a vlog that their family also voted for hanbin because they were thankful that he was there for matthew when they physically couldn’t
• hanbin was asked at a fansign who he wants to be roommates with aside from taerae (who was his roommate at the time), and he answered matthew ♡ i- n matthew’s rolling paper for camp zerobaseone, hanbin wrote “(matthew is) a warm-hearted dongsaeng who gives twice as much love as he receives”.
