to add as a fun fact to that alts-related ask… a lot of recent vs alts have been retuned, which ngl is kind of jarring because sometimes the tuning is like. too noticeably different. a jp post with meiko hitsuji ga ippiki went viral back at its release because of it, but as someone that focuses on it… it's JARRING😭 sometimes the alts are okay-ish, but sometimes they're worse and,,,,,, ugh.

I had a quick question - are all alts rerecorded? Also do you know if sekai covers have the vas sing the whole song and then separate out the lines or only have them sing lines based on predetermined line distributions? Idk if that info is even public but I thought I might try asking 😭

but alts are Generally not rerecorded afaik. there's a few that are obviously (like seibai is obviously multiple recordings for tsukasa to be able to, you know, voice different roles) but most aren't i'm pretty sure. additionally, back in the day there were many alts that dropped on release and whatnot so . i would say at minimum even if there is re-recordings... they are probably just typically recorded with the sekai one at.
i do know that like, the seiyuus do know the lines that are (planned to be?) in the final (tokishun posts a song at the end of the year with highlighted wxs-ish colors and talks about recording. so like. yeah. people were using these looking to be able to figure out what was coming up LOL)

… in general the issue is, once again, how rare duets have become lmao. like. outburst dreamer boys and planet loop had approx. a year of distance like what the hell. emunene is probably going to go 2 years without a duet if they don't get one this year.
honestly with that in mind… could next l/n duet be ichisaki…? i really want ichishiho though… if it's raspberry monster or monochrome blue sky icsk i may forgive them (<- half joking). but yeah that's also why i kinda don't want to count those duets, even if they could be counted… i just like to see them more as early game bs, but they could easily count, too… ugh😭 so annoying. (even so, i'd argue mzen are probably next in line for n25 duets. knmf is already at 5 and doing the other 12/34 pairing for n25 would check out enough. i could see them maybe doing mzmf but ngl i think it'd probably ble mzen -> mzmf.
szai getting another duet for mmj is most ideal, too… funny how last n25 duets have all been kanade duets and things are looking the same for mmj with shizuku.
honestly i just can't fathom why they did that during wl2 at all. like. if wl2 events had comms it would be a different thing, i'd be WAY more understanding. but they didn't… at least wl3 has comms now, but even so i don't think doing a "one cover per month" thing would be a good look at all.
even so, did you know that last pjsk year's average cover per month count was actually similar to previous years? for reference:
year 1 was 4.583 covers per month (55 in total, highest out of all years… which makes sense, it was literally the year of release LMAO)
year 2 was 38 overall covers, with an average of 3.167 per month
year 3 was 37 covers, with an average of 3.0833 per month
year 4 was 40 covers, with an average of 3.333 per month
year 5 was 38 covers again, so the same average as year 2 (honestly this one surprised me but i think most months besides that summer streak were actually okay-ish in counts. they were just. badly distributed for some reason. we also got 4 covers on september 2025 and septembers tend to have the lowest amount of songs announced? and we did have march 2025 with 6 covers so yeah. it really was just them badly spacing covers i think.
with what we have of year 6, though… we're at 20 songs divided by seven months (october, november, december, january, february, march & april), so an average of 2.857… it's close to 3 ig, but it's also like. noticeably lower than all the other averages.
honestly one of the things i noticed about this year was the noticeable lack of off-campaign covers. we had cat food during 4th anni's broadcast + henceforth and outburst during 2025's new years broadcast and many of the previous years had similar situations too. yet 5th anni and 2026 ny's didn't have those at all for some reason? kind of wild tbh
i honestly do hope they announce minimum three covers next month, but i'm with you that at this point two seems to be the least i should expect, unfortunately💀
jk. everyone gets a cover (except l/n for balancing purposes) affirm💜
jokes aside, i wonder how different the counts would be if i counted all vs only and instrumental songs, though. maybe counts would be more even within all years? but even so like. i think covers are kinda one of the things people expect the most of out a gacha rhythm game franchise like pjsk so it's just. puzzling to me. lol. lmao, even. 😭
yeah i wouldn't be shocked if emunene go 2 years without a duet tbh. feels a little weird.. wxs ebb and flow with the emunene "drought" (more accurately they were way less spammed than ruikasa lol) -> ruikasa drought (emunene had to catch up.. somehow!) -> and now emunene drought again. funny how that works...
ugh. i guess it makes sense why summer was so dead but still. couldn't they have just not did that like, 6 cover month in february/march. cant remember. that was excessive honestly even if they cut 2 of those and slapped them in summer so we had 2 covers a month for 2 months, it'd be better...
i did notice that too. nothing on anni/ny was a smidge jarring to me but like. i could kindof excuse it if other months were busy. but it's just kinda felt slow in general really.
hmmm.. i think if you count the vs onlys the number would definitely jump. we've had a lot of random stuff like the extremely long snow miku dump, and stuff like onsoku campaign. it's a bit weird yeah because we get a lot of vs onlys lately. i dont know who's asking for that, but it's definitely not me LOL

(specs anon) honestly i wouldn't be surprised if you're right with the whole "ankh & akty get a yearly cover each", but seeing how wxs got 2 ritk covers in a "row" to make them catch up to emnn's count makes me believe ankh could get two duets in a row, eventually… ideally… hopefully. it's been like 4 months already and i'm still surprised at planet loop being ruikasa. genuinely unexpected lol.
also, i don't think it's happening anytime soon but i wouldn't be surprised if l/n gets a duet again in like, within one of their next 3 covers. just so we don't get a superhero situation and have l/n have a singular duet in their entire album that'd be awful.
also agree on szai and mzen. szai's case is more jarring though… romeo and cinderella was literally on year 1 pjsk like what the hell dude.
if we follow the rinn argument… could hurray count as ichishiho and cellphone love story as mzen, then? idk i just don't like the idea of that at all lol😭💀
also fun fact but this pjsk year we've gotten less covers per month on average compared to previous (pjsk) years… honestly pisses me off. hopefully this summer is more stable with covers compared to the awful this weird world exists for me-ikiru-surges streak… still have ptsd over that tbh. i can't think about the first cover without thinking about the one cover per month curse💔💔💔
i totally forgot about the ruikasa 2 covers thing.. i guess in my head it's a bit different with wxsvbs because vbs has "kinda" operated under this prerogative for like 2 years now (i think.. would need to check) while i dont think wxs has? lol

yeah i think they've done it before, and with the whole "allergic to >2:20 game sizes" thing they've been having for… almost 2 years atp, it's not particularly unsurprising. they generally try to prioritize cutting instrumentals over lyrics, though, but since the 2nd half of hedgehog's bridge is basically the 1st half again i can see why they cut it… at least it flows okay… deep sea city underground's game size cutting chorus lines, on the other hand…
anyways, since we're almosy halfway through the month… any predictions of covers next broadcast? we were wildly off last month (why did they give n25 a 3dmv!?) but i definitely think wxs is a lock for this month (low in 3dmvs, last one was a year ago, lowest cover count…). i want to say mmj too, but i'm unsure if they'll give both groups 3dmvs lol… maybe they get a normal cover just to up their cover count and then they get a cover 3dmv in june? idk.
vbs is in a "probably getting a cover" category to me. they don't need a cover 3dmv so yeah.
n25 is in a "maybe but i doubt it" category… they got two covers last two months, and while their counts aren't the highest, i just. don't see them getting one lol. i'm open to the possibility simply because they have the same count as vbs though… obviously no 3dmv. n25 in general needs to fuck off from getting ALL types of mvs besides preexisting comm 2dmvs.
l/n is definitely not happening though… counting asagao they're at highest cover count, and even not counting it, they're also at highest. they got two covers last two months, not to mention they're guaranteed to get a hako (and therefore a comm), so yeah.
as for duets… i think it's delusional atp from me, but ankh feels like a possibility. their last duet was well over a year ago and ankh all things considered DO need to catch up to akty in duet counts, so yeah. could also see them just doing full group, though… kira getting a comm makes me hope ankh get getcha LMAOOO.
i don't have a particular predictions of when a group is getting a duet but if i had to guess, next duets for each group probably are: ichishiho for l/n, shizuai for mmj, ankoha for vbs, emunene or ruinene for wxs (rinn is in case they actually want to give them one, emnn is in case they want to keep the emnn & ritk balance) and mizuena for n25… but i feel most of these are obvious for every group tbh. hopefully some of them take little time to come back.
i would be genuinely SHOCKED if we don't get a wxs 3dmv this month 😭😭 they're due a cover by now and especially due a 3dmv.. surprised they haven't cranked out one yet. it's a bit weird bc wxs is like. probably the most expected unit for 3dmvs in general considering the whole dancing thing is kinda their shebang lol. but alas, the wait marches on...
i think niigo is Not Happening... if it really is hona6+mafu7 i would say absolutely fucking not entirely LOL. l/n i also don't think either for same reasons stated with excessive count
mmj+vbs i am pretty much like "it could happen, it could also not happen and i wouldn't be terribly shocked". i think with wxs getting a cover i'd lean that vbs gets a cover. i never bet more than 2 covers a month because i like to keep my expectations on release schedule being nice low as fuck. 2 feels like a decent amount here in this case...
as for duets, if it's vbs, i could actually see anhane get one. i think they kinda just do a yearly mandated anhane+akitoya cover atp so vivids should get one eventually... maybe one of the next 2 covers.
agree on the duets, all feel pretty overdue except. i think ruinene just won't get a cover honestly. i've sortof accepted that they only want to do 1 of each m/f pair, and ruinene's is nijiiro. so bouken emukasa, nijiiro ruinene, childish war nenekasa, and sukina emurui is all we'll get. the day we see one of these four get a cover, then i think we can say they probably have plans for one of the other counterparts to receive one.
i know it's been long beaten to death that shizuai's cover absence has been astronomically bad, but it's genuinely insane to me mizuena still hasn't had a proper cover since gehanna in 2022. what the fuck is happening over there? especially in a post mzen5 world where, surely they could do... something? anything?

honestly i was wondering how they were going to cut the song (whether doing the bridge or cutting it entirely). i never considered the possibility they'd just. do half the bridge. kind of funny tbh.
also i think this is the first l/n full group cover to not have ichika get the first line, too. kinda makes sense since the typical sakihonashiho lines in full group covers can't really happen otherwise before the chorus starts lol.
all in all i really liked the cover. rin's tuning is decent, too.

i really liked hedgehog... well, i like the song anyways, but the cover is good too. vocals are nice, line distribution is good. mixing was a bit eh but im fine in the end. i didn't really make a prediction on the cut but ... this type of "partial bridge" does feel somewhat common from what i remember?
as for it starting with someone who isnt ichika--first one with a different OC, at least! there's a few that start with the vs on the cover haha. i did immediately notice that something felt different... guess that's why, huh.

I honestly just believe they’re weird missing/unused slots. Considering it’s been there since Power of Regret -> Aim higher and higher! … and this is when they started doing faceless stuff regularly and ironed stuff out mostly, so it’s probably just weird shit. I originally pinned those slots in my head as Hikarin (bc she was an extremely suspicious character on my radar with Airi’s event and would fit a slot if they intended to give her one) then reasoned we were also likely to get a Yukihira L2D (because he’s super important lol) but then. Neither of those occupied the slots…? I was right about them getting l2d at least lmao.
So I was pretty confused, honestly. My leading theory is that “nothing” haha

(specs anon) thing is i'm kinda struggling to imagine which hako could even happen that makes sense rotation wise. mafuyu7 maybe? mmj is in a weird spot because it obviously can't be minori7 because of wl3 so shizuku7? even though shizuku needs an event card? idk, it's just odd😭 which is why i think a mixed event, whether permanent or limited, should happen instead lol… who knows what they'll do though
I do think the latest MMJ event kindof set up a Minori focus specifically so I would probably personally rule them out. I think Niigo is very likely to be Mafuyu next (I really don’t see why they’d do another Ena event before her) and if Mafuyu isn’t in April, she can’t get an event until late July. So I would wager if there’s 2 hakos it kinda has to be Niigo in the secondary slot
imo it’s either 1 hako with hona perm, or 2 if hona lim. Wedding is a mess I’ll figure out once we see what happens during the perm next month, lol

if airimix3 gw happens then i'm guessing wedding is probably mizusaki or ichimizu + someone? probably either ena or a vs if i had to guess. if honami6 gw happens then i'm indeed guessing ichiairi plus either ena or a vs… i think ichika is very likely to get summer bfes though, especially since saki isn't available because of wl3, and all things considered, i could see an ichinene bfes happening… or something. i'm not sure tbh, too early to tell. but yeah.
my problem is kinda like, leoni are in a really shitty spot for mixed appearances. if hona6 is lim that knocks her and saki off 100%. if its perm then ichika probably cant be there anyways because something tells me they wont triple 1gap her. shiho is also stuck with wl. its just kindof a really bad time for a leoni mixed which is strange
ichinene bfes is on my radar though. i am genuinely considering that as a pretty decently possible banner. haven't thought too much abt the rest though... vs event exists. somewhere.
