since i've already seen your post regarding the character lineups for wl3, i wanted to ask: do you think the vs choices were intentional? if so, why do you think each one was chosen for each part?
to be honest... i'm not super versed in vocaloid .. "lore" for lack of a better understanding. so if there's a connection regarding their history that Could Possibly apply i'm not aware
however, i can come up with some explanations for why i think the vocaloids were likely chosen
1. miku. ichika. starts them off. i feel like this one shouldn't really be controversial of an explanation
2. rin and len. kagamines grouped together isn't exactly a hard concept to understand. i do think they're sortof generically troped into the "cheerful ones" which fits the upbeat nature of this group. also i think they wanted to generally avoid having groups with 1 male in it lmao. particularly for vocal reasons, again
3. luka. this one i think is aesthetic/vocal appeal purely. luka/honami/shizuku/mafuyu already appear in april fools under meryuu, it's the same specific appeal there if you understand what i'm talking about
4. kaito. i do think grouping him with men (rui/toya) is another pretty easy explanation honestly.
5. meiko. this one i'm... not totally sure on. i do think a lot of the time these are basically just vocal qualities mostly. she's a little.. "sharper"? i guess? which fits that group well
...so yeah. it's honestly largely just aesthetic/vocal appeal but the generic traits assigned/associated with some of them kinda match these characters.

thank you for commenting on how overly negative the fandom has been lately, i feel like i’ve been losing my mind watching ppl get mad over every little thing LOL. i think people are generally right about a group of cards having kind of mediocre design/composition/whatever, but i feel like it’s plenty evident that there’s just some members of the card design team that make “less interesting” cards than others, and sometimes a highly anticipated event just ends up with the less interesting designers. it’s okay!!
that aside, i’m a former love live SIF player and i’m convinced the majority of project sekai fans would not have survived the huge quality fluctuations that game had over the years LMAOO. some things can be frustrating but we can also be realistic that nothing is that bad!! it’s kind of just how gacha games are sometimes
ahhh no problem :) i do hope that even one person considers it LOL. idk it's just a toxic environment to be in for yourself and for people around you.
and yeah i agree! like. there's definitely been some Bad choices lately, particularly in the art department. whatever is causing these bust shots with empty blurry bg cards is really frustrating and i do not like it one bit. i personally would guess it's less certain members of the design team, but rather a deliberate choice to prioritize merchandising + it just kinda costs less to just do these types of cards anyways. they've been selling more and more merch lately and these cards are literally begging to go on a tin badge. lmao. numerous factors go into the state of things
but as a whole. yeah... i've heard stuff about love live SIF. i've never went there myself but other idol gachas can be a bit of a mess sometimes. people actually often rip and tear on clpl's balancing but often the fandom wants stuff even worse for balancing (ppl begging for an ena card here over kanade, when... kanade has less cards... okay.) . and like you say. 99% of prsk fans who complain about stuff like this would literally DIE over practically anything else on the market HAHA.

okay ngl i'm?? a bit confused. i understand it means that the september events will be the more normal length (8-9 days instead of 7-8) but like. what does that imply in this case? that there won't be days of break between the event before finale chapter and finale chapter? i had assumed that sekai generally goes for the longer days for events whenever they can anyways lol😭

okay so. shizuku 3* and kanade 2*. i'd say "what the fuck are they doing" but this is actually good imo. it basically just decreased the chances of shizuku PU in minori7 drastically. and since airi also needs a 3*, doing a shizuku 2* there could work.
kanade is also unlikely for pu in mafuyu7, too, so… a mizuki5 -> ena5 kanamafu event shop situation. kind of, lol.
that being said… ngl the set is kinda funny. why are shizukaito eating mizuai up (imo)💀
it makes a lot of sense in that context but it's also scary because 3 mmj vs in 4 months is horrifying conceptually LMAO. but it does help mmj's balance out there. reminds me of when nene finally returned in 2022-2023's ny event as a 3* despite desperately wanting a new 2*, because she got one literally the next event in amidst a dream LMAO
considering mizuki wants a 2* more too, i guess it works out well if they both get their next shops soon. huh.
yeahh i agree that shizukaito r the set winners personally. airi... um.. yeah i think this one's a letdown. minori bloomfes core, wait way over a year to get a lim and it's a bummer.

also surprised people are complaining about the untrained. i feel this is one of those few untrained that don't need to be super chaotic or anything, and even then i think it's still interesting ("why is a bird in a cage in mizuki's room?" "is she sewing something? what is it?"), also if this was a boring composition mizuki wouldn't be in her side profile i think.
not a wl3 part 2 situation at all, is all i'm saying. hopefully the other untraineds and traineds are equally decent though.
yeah!! like! there's legitimately something to look at here. you get an impression of mizuki and her room. you see her doing an activity... it's like. there's something Happening in the untrained... wow!!
if people were forced to look at crap like minori's srsc focus untrained last year in comparison to this one they'd lose their minds i think. stuff like that is Actually garbage. this one has a fully detailed background with THINGS IN IT. it's not even blurry!! the problem with a lot of cards is the characters don't even look like they fit in the sterile empty boring lit environment and are plastered on top to justify existing. MIZUKI DOES HERE. she's literally sitting in a sunset in her room girl.

also just saw your thread and… did the "time matters more than count" people strike again😭 yeah ena is going to be due for a 3* eventually but like. her event shop count is actually pretty much fine, and she doesn't have the lowest 3* count anyways. she can get a 3* later down the line i think (kanade, on the other hand, absolutely needed this)
as for the wedding lineup being a repeat of a lot of characters… i'd get it if a 4* was here repeating (i was scared of touya) but like. PU are all either previously event shop characters and kaito who is actually new. i kinda get wanting more unique lineups (this is the 3rd lineup with mizuai as PU) but ngl that's more on sekai and their wl obsession… hopefully we get more normal mixed events next year, especially since it'd make a lot of sense with what wl3 literally did, right? idk i think wl has to go. the worlds are already linking (and i'm assuming that's 100% what finale will do because well. what else can they do genuinely)
like idk. these choices are all around balance. it kinda feels that people are arguing about things that literally are impossible to balance in practice, at least from my pov😭 there are 26 characters in the game (and 6 of those are vocaloids), you can only do so many lineups before repetition becomes imminent lol.
kinda reminds me of people that say sekai should balance "limited focuses". like… i get it but also like. do you understand that sounds like a balancing nightmare.
like i do have my pjsk balance issues. a lot. but i feel people complain about things that are so absurd (again, the limited focuses thing). in those i feel like balancing the lims AND the amounts of banners separately are like, good enough? honestly the whole idea of a character "needing a hakolim" is funny as fuck to me, too. like, again, i kind of get it, you want your fav to get something special, but tbh i just care about whether said characters got a lim or not like😭 idk ichika may "lack" a hakolim focus but also like. she's PU in 4 out of 5 l/n hakolims, i think it's okay if she doesn't get one lol. same with nene (who i'm pretty sure has been pu in every wxs hakolim too despite none being her focus)
all of that without mentioning the fact that sekai has literally mentioned they don't balance it. ik not everyone knows japanese though, and that that one post is not recent anymore but like😭 as insane as some of their decisions recently have been they actually tend to be relatively consistent about them.
like idk pjsk balance 100% has its issues but i feel it's much better than other gacha games from the rhythm genre… bandori and d4dj have such horrible balance it actually pisses me off LMAOO. not sure about enstars though.

see i did consider toya for a moment but i was like "wait what would even be the point of pushing koha7 up then? and kaito was having the same issues as toya we were concerned about..." haha.
i do get the gripes about repeating wedding chars that because it is a little unfortunate ... but unfortunately that's also just the way the wind blows. the only oc who was a decently viable candidate who could actually be a 4* on wedding was ichika. and she's just . you know. kinda obviously bloomfes now LOL. and none of the characters on the bottom of the shop list are new to wedding... 2 of which (tenmas) are at the literal top of the list too. sucks.
also yeah i think the bigger concern is repetitive PU LMFAOOO. which people weirdly seem to never complain much about usually? somehow even the people who liked the shitty valentine's event this year didn't seem to acknowledge it's literally a flat repeat of wd1. focus and everything. somehow the only repetitive pu complaints i see are vbs because they refuse to just do a normal aibou gacha LMAO.
yeaaah idk. i do think people get up in the weeds about a lot of niche subjects. i think having a lim event for everyone is a good goal to shoot for but also there's only 12 months in a year and at least 2 of these (ny/anni) arent gonna be hakolims lmao. and you just can't schedule it all to be perfect. i think some people should move to a "they'll get to it... eventually..." mindset for cases like these.
also smh nene wasn't on ddfl so she's only been on 3/4 wxs lim banners TCH... joke. i'd like a nene hakolim event eventually, she's my favorite, but if it doesn't happen for awhile... well, tough luck for me lol. similar thinking to you and ichika
ive heard horror stories from all 3 of those lmfao. prsk is soooo tame in comparison... but. tbf enstars also has like 50 characters and has continued to expand so balancing good is already a literally impossible task. bandori had the right idea when they realized to literally split off into a second game lmao

hello i return! im thinking about comm vs, which doesn’t really go well by the end of the rotation but i do like to have it as a jumping off point. so, i present, my thought process! and the horrifying confusion that comes with it
i think i’ve mentioned in the past working with a vague comm cap for how many comms a vs can have per unit (5 for non-miku vs, 6 for miku). i dont have reason to believe there is or isnt a cap, but it helps me balance dueness so i’ve kept it around. i have a feeling someone’s going to raise that this rotation though (so miku 6 -> 7 or other vs 5 -> 6. or both if they hate me specifically), i just cant see many good outcomes with it as it is… vbs and wxs have 3 at my cap, leoniigo 2, and mmj on the verge of getting a 2nd. yes this is a self inflicted rule but still
luka’s also so high that i think she needs to be killed here. with her wl + a lock on vs, i think we can get rid of her
so, kaito out luka out. with wxs next i want to consider them first. im drawn to the idea of miku for them, it just aligns well. they could have meiko for a “cap” breaker, but i dont feel strongly towards that. imo the kagamines are weird—len should not be here if it’s 2oc (the best choice imo, esp with two very open lim slots that’d fit a long lim gap from someone with 2 mixes…) but rin has other, more ideal placements. my issue, though, is that i think giving miku to wxs is what fucks up the rest of my predictions! she may just be better suited to niigo…
i do think mmj summerfes is the best choice for balance, so they’re next. now, if it’s 2oc (iffy), i think rin’s The best choice. if not, she’s still likely but i have to consider others. meiko is possible if 2oc too, but idk if they’d prioritize shizuku or meiko. i also think meiko’s in just a generally good enough spot that she can be literally anywhere else (mix or event).
if mmj is 3oc (which makes sense because they need an anni 3*… squaring them all away here would make sense), all it does is include len in the running (airi’s likely the 3☆, so 2☆s are all that matters and it’s all the same count for most vs). that’s kinda where the trail runs dry for me.
niigo in july is likely, so they’re next. im ignoring the possibility of niigo len because he has gotten plenty of content lately, so i think him getting excluded here makes sense. ive been leaning towards meiko for them, but i could see luka. which is where my luka exclusion theory falls apart, because she’d be such a good fit. i dont feel strongly on niigo miku, or rin, or len…. but none of them have no reason not to be here. ouh.
then leoni. at least luka is very much unlikely here. i honestly have no clue who they could get. meiko maybe, rin perhaps? i feel like len shouldn’t be here after hona6… rin being here honestly might fix the rest of my issues tbh. so then maybe:

mmj len (2☆)
niigo meiko (4☆? probably?)
leoni rin (3☆ i think… shop in general though imo)

i actually do think wxs miku 4* is pretty sensible! i'm in the same boat about mmj hakolim but mmj miku is also pretty much guaranteed for the vs event imo. i do think miku just needs an additional 4* because she's . getting a lot of people catching up to her soon LOL. i can't really see her as a shop though, i think if it is 3oc tsukasa emu rui (not personally betting on it) then i think len 2* is the way to go. i've been considering them kicking emu from the set and putting in len anyways? not entirely sure. but if miku isn't a 4* here i kindof just don't really know where she'd go... i'd propose leoni as the second best choice but i feel like leoni's aug perm and i dont really feel like theyre gonna 1gap miku (vs event Basically Has to be end of aug)
i'm stumped on mmj. if it's a 4* i do think it has to be rin but i literally have no good ideas for shop. as you say they're really all about the same here... so... i have been wondering if they'd be willing to double up VS again for the first time in years (this is a pretty shitty rotation to do it though because like. again. why vbs kaito over rin...? and who else would even receive her)
niigo meiko and leoni meiki/rin... yeah. that makes enough sense. i feel you with luka though bc for once she actually does deserve something but it's in a terrible spot LOL.
overall though. i think this makes sense? i guess we'll see. this is a pretty bizarre rotation start so it's really thrown me off LMFAO. and all the wls having fucking vs in them just makes it so much more complicated for my poor little brain

okay mizuai+mmj kaito, pretty much checks out lol. surprised at mizuki banner but it's like. yeah fair enough, it could've gone either way.
happy is also an okay-ish? choice. i definitely think we may get the 3 mmj uscorers now tbh (mysterious rin for minori7 and then like. pure? miku for the vs event), unless shizuku is pu in minori7… which kinda increased as a possibility with her being event shop. i could see her getting event shop later anyways since she's still kinda? low.

yeah i think i agree with another mixed event being ideal… problem is pjsk is in its hakoslop era (said half jokingly) and doesn't know when to stop. wedding happening feels like a miracle tbh. but yeah i just don't see l/n hakolim happening either. especially since it'd probably be 3ocs and last thing we need is an ichika6 lineup repeat where they give saki event shop lol.
not sure about emu either tbh… her 4* count and event shop count are kinda high already and last thing she needs is a mixed event imo. maybe they do any other unit rep like. idk kanade or kohane? although the latter also has a high 4* count ugh… who knows tbh.
i really need the event announcement to come soon. this is getting dreadful tbh.

i do think we're actually going to bump up the count for shop over summer. keeping shihosaki, emukasa, and toya all at 16 is relatively untenable. especially with how basically everyone at 13 is almost guaranteed a shop card for their next events respectively. so keeping it within this same border seems pretty reasonable to me actually. i don't quite know Who is hitting 17 shop first though....
kohane's 4* count is even Worse than emu (29 post wl3 in a weekish, emu at 28). i propose emu for her 3rd mixed focus, as only her, mizuki, and airi are left, and one of those two should be guaranteed to get something in a few hours. so emu should be a frontrunner for a constant candidate soon enough anyways...
akito will be moving to 29 in august too (which is only like 2 weeks after end of july lim). ena will also move there with her wl + assumedly mafu6/possibly still wedding. so i think emu going to 29 in around the same timeframe is OK as fine as long as she has a good reason behind it
just a few more hours...!!!!
