I don’t know… It’s hard to say. the religious/tradition part is very significant because GM practices are built around and with it and it’s where some of Kharon’s deepest principles about maintaining a symbiotic relationship with the natural and supernatural derive from since the very beginning. I definitely think they do this in their own way (Initially subtly, then it kinda ramps up at some point…) where they do not detach from those beliefs entirely, but rather the parts that have been systematically and individually weaponised and used against them, their generations and the people they love/d. Kharon has turned to those beliefs in unhealthy, destructive ways before,especially during the points in their life where they did not know what else to do. But They recognised the religiosity of the GMs isn’t entirely putrid from this point and that it hasn’t been irrevocably attached to damaging concepts and practices that forced their way in. Then They later realise they can actually do something more about this because the only thing stopping them is really only themself

When they think of past users of the AOTGM, they think of them to be both leaders, and also victims. Society has the power, afterall, never one individual. 🫠
