hi kappi! ive been recently on a bingeread again and whatever delusion you marinated in your page is always really fun to study under a microscope ❤ i have a couple and i hope its no bother

-how do you keep going on a story youve established? ive had personal little oc lores ive gotten incredibly fixated onto that can stretch for Weeks, then drop them due to lost spark. concepts that i look back now and still think interesting, but also no clue how to expand without making no sense or too indulgent. on top of that, i notice my arts like. updating every month, so designs quickly get outdated and even by then i dont know where to go first. its such a painful process creating a new oc rooted with undertones that connect to you (as i project a lot) then slowly let it fade away cause its too overwhelming to explore on
-do u have advice in searching visual reference? how do u find the consistent variety of designs? no matter what i search @ pinterest it still feels bland but looking anywhere else is too confusing if not worse, even if i have a clear idea of what i want in head im still missing the way to express that in an equally matching energy (ur gijinkas as prime example) and its hard to connect with search results when they miss the mark by a couple steps
-i recognize that fat stupid bird and its name is at the tip of my tongue but i Forgot Oh My God. inbetween this Please i want to know
-i love ur ocs and their hardships and stories i really do,,, i have certains tweets of insight to them bookmarked so i can catch up (since i Barely check xitter) but it still feels like im missing a lot and no way ill remember checking said marks everytime. admittedly i dont even know some of their names and just recognize them by shape LOLL im so so sorray... asides the summary u just posted, do by chance theres a more-intact one? or a thread archiving their info/biodata?
-on a scale of 1-10 how bad is ball and which one of them know

i like this one hi anon

1 im very curious so i just had 900 topics i wanted to explore. that gets overwhelming obviously so then on the occasion i’d just get fixated on one or few at a time. the story ends up growing over time by itself . I honestly i have no idea how i do this or how i’ve been doing it for so long But its not like i also dont lose my spark at times. And worry not because i’m being too indulgent with my ocverse anyways / I too struggle with the same issue of inconsistency in designs, but i personally choose not 2 care and draw the outdated ones snyway…….(guilty) .

i believe what helped me is support from other people like my friends & family. Lots of what ctl emerged from were like fun friend things until i branched off to my own stories, but their comments and encouragement of it really helped me continue with my stories/ it could also just be my general mindset too. Ctl seems to be a special case because i lose interest fairly quickly on other stuff. It’s something i channel most of my ideas into! I always like keeping my brain working! on the other hand i think its the projection. how everything links together makes me giddy so anything i do just ends up being ctl anyway im the guy who goes How can I make this about my ocs towards everything. To keep a story going on is to channel ideas consistently, but don’t do it in big bursts of a lot of ideas otherwise its gonna be overwhelming (but these are personal experiences … i serve a passion that only i can really get so i dont think i can tell you exactly how you can do this if you dont go on your own little journey)

2 i see stuff i like outside or i randomly stumble upon them online and half of the time theyre really minor things or concepts that i somehow get inspired by. This is broad, but oftentimes it’s that i dont seek them intentionally but they find me instead. pinterest still might be good to have at least some sort of fundamental concept but i do find that things can get repetitive there, and the search function is sometimes not very good, so i choose not to rely on it either … for me it is mostly developing my design senses too to build my visual library instead. eg taking parts from artists i like and then studying them. this is something i do a lot. dont b afraid to be inspired and draw on ideas . otherwie its years of designing bullshit i pulled out of my ass caus e my visual references are Not Consistent/. There are probably some niche websites out there i dont know of that have good visual references befitting certain styles

3 kākāpo. endemic to new zealand. love those guys :)

4 that’s very endearing! i dont blame u for that i naturally store everything of them in my mind and it somehow works
and (? No? Not really? I guess there’s the toyhouse and i had a document in the works, but because there was so much information it just became a hassle to work on. i decided to actively sabotage both me and whoever’s reading this because i keep procrastinating. I feel bad whenever someone asks me this because it’s like well It’s… my in my head… I swear I’m working on something soon…

5 do they know ball
