a kingdom to rule, a house to protect and a legacy to continue. so he's expected to go the traditional way of marrying someone, having kids and choosing his own heir. in the GoT/ASOIAF world, although there's an existence of queer relationships, it was taboo and strictly forbidden especially when you belong to a house as powerful as the targaryens. but well yeah, still he'll fell for jisung. idk just the idea of will hyunjin choose love or his duty to the crown and well jisung... i know it's sad 😭😭😭
GASP. wait don’t even get me started about duty vs love, that is genuinely one of my favorite concepts to explore. I definitely think hyunjin Has the strong capability to internalize duty to such an intense degree .. he’s critical and very cognizant of expectation irl so i definitely think it aligns for him. I actually had this one au idea a long time ago where he was the older twin prince of a kingdom and he had to cut off his fwb (a noble’s son) due to his duty as a prince and as the more ‘responsible’ brother to marry another prince he doesn’t love for the sake of their kingdom. it ends up as a love triangle sort of, but I didn’t get too far with it in the end lol. but anyway !!! just highlighting how much I loveee this theme
