chocolate or caramel?
oh AWESOME question because i love both, so i want to say both at the same time because cadbury's wispa gold is the ELITE chocolate bar and my all-time fave! i love caramel in/on ice cream and that kind of thing but can't do hard caramel candies. and my favourite chocolate is actually white chocolate! so this is a too-long copout answer to say: both but depends on the context 😗

I am thinking a lot about octopus today! Do you have a favorite(s)?
ooh the giant pacific octopus is a classic and i've known many, but i have to say my favourite octopus memories are from when the aquarium i worked at had a common octopus in a little tank in a behind the scenes education area and she was SO fun and interactive. my coworker and i would go on little walks away from our desks just to go see her and watch her change colours and follow us around the sides of her tank 🥺

i love that you love fish, i have sooooo many favourites! first off i've always been obsessed with sharks and rays, so my favourites there are blue sharks, leopard sharks, oceanic whitetips, whale sharks, zebra sharks, manta rays (all devil rays actually), fiddler rays, sawfish and bowmouth guitarfish! honestly it's so hard for me to narrow even those down because there are SO many i love.
as for bony fishes, i LOVE sturgeon of all kinds! they're so resilient and prehistoric-looking, and their scale can be so crazy. i also really like arowana for the same reason! i LOVE tuna - i don't eat them because they're top predators and some species (bluefin esp) are overfished. they're absolutely beautiful, the first time i saw a live one in person was at the monterey bay aquarium and i'm going back soon so i can't wait to see them again. they're so gorgeous and FAST and powerful.
i will also shoutout what is an all-time favourite kind of fish for me: salmon! i went a long time without eating them but recently went from vegetarian to pescatarian for health reasons, and because it's possible to make informed choices about salmon depending on their origin. supporting sustainable salmon fisheries can help indigenous communities, and several of the orca orgs i support are heavily involved in salmon habitat restoration to that effect. but other than that, salmon are so fascinating to me for the journeys they take throughout their lives, and how tightly bound they are to the health of the ecosystem around them. it's why when i got my first orca tattoo i designed it to include salmon as well! they are forever linked 💙
