When did you start writing? What were your other fandoms?
hi hi :]
I started writing... when i was fifteen? I used to write a lot of percy jackson fanfic hahaha i was obsessed with it!! especially with the dark twist of percy's fatal flaw and all that -- would do anything for his friends? burn down the world? turn evil? let's talk more. but i used to write in pt, for obvious reasons. i also wrote for one direction (yes) and another fandom that i no longer acknowledge.
but i never shared a thing. my sister read all of them, and there was this one specific 1d fic (straight, sorry, i was 15 and closeted) that my sister wanted me to share bc she thought it would go well but i was always too anxious to share it :/
it can be very very scary to share writing! especially with how anyone can say anything online hahaha ofc i know that my writing is not for everyone and definitely not the most professional and well rounded, but it's fun and a way to express myself, so it took some maturing (and getting beat up by depression for years) for me to realize that some people may like it and that i could be part of fandom in a way that i always admired.
to all the fic writers: you're the best :] you are vital to a thriving community
Did you write other stuff than your fics (novel, poems, songs etc) ? I'm curious :3
hi hi!!
hmmm i write letters?? i rarely sent them, but i've been writing to other people most of my life ahaha i'm not very good at expressing my self/feelings verbally, so writing was always a safe space way to do that. and i try to keep a diary, but most of the times it's just me vomiting out words that could maybe explain my thoughts. most of the things i write, i keep to myself, even if they are meant to someone else bc i'm terrified of being vulnerable ahahah but my goal is to, soon, send out two letters to friends i have abroad, one to my best friend and the other one to my stay friend i met (bc of fics) and visited last december! fingers crossed that i actually do it
but things that i share with others are fics haha and it took me years to gather the courage. if it weren't for tennis player minho, who knows, i might have never posted a thing ksjdfhsdjkfs
What type of movies do you like the most ? Have one you want to yap about in particular ?
ohhh ok ok pls don't hate me: it depends HAHAHAHA
ok, so i love thrillers! might be my go to, especially at the theater! i looove them bc usually the soundtrack is impeccable and i love it when sound complements the movie well! horror is a close second but i don't find gore for just gore fun. i watched more of the Saw franchise and it went from bad to unwatchable skjdfjdsfjsd it is just not for me.
i loooove a good drama! hit me UP!! preferably if it'll have me crying at the theater skdjfsd i'm an excessively shy person, but i will sob at the theater bc it's a safe space.
romcoms? yes. in recent years they have been really bad, and early 2000s ones are fun but also like skdjfhsdjf questionable. but i love them anyway.
raunchy comedies. all. the. way. idc what people will think (im lying, i will care,if you hate it, pls don't make fun of me) but i love the scary movie franchise hahahaha the 6th one is coming out this year and i'm EXCITED AS FUCK!!!!! i remember i watched the 5th one for the first time in school (long story) and i was the only one laughing mskfjhsdkjfsd
but just like music, i like a bit of everything!!! some of my fav movies are:
- hereditary
- aquamarine
- scary movie (the first one ofc)
- about time
- 13 going on 30
- 10 things i hate about you
- sinister
brazilian movies not listed bc i can't begin to explain my adoration for br art :] also i am a novela (soap opera) enthusiast, even tho i don't have cable anymore and haven't had the opportunity to watch them in years. I grew up on that shit. LOCK ME UP
Do you play video games ? If yes did you have one to recommend ? If no tell me whatever you want instead :3
Hii! my games definitely don't count kjfhsdfjhsd i play lots of sudoku and solitaire bc i'm actually an old man trapped in a young woman's body hehe
i used to play some on nintendo ds when i was a kid... cooking mama, super mario, mario kart (i was good at that hehe)! when i was in college i had a (in)significant other and he played a lot, he gave up teaching me fortnight bc i'd get anxious about how to view the game (too much up and down and right and left, overwhelming), he i did kick his ass in a mario tennis game and he was mad bc i'm not really good at video games and instinctively was better at the tennis vg than anyone skjdfjdsf which tbh it's a lot to do with luck.
i played online games as a kid tho!! there was jack frost, that was fun. and all the barbie games, ofc. there were a few that we had the CD for but i don't remember, one of them was a detective barbie one. and then there was the phone one hell's kid? idk if anyone knows this game but i was OBSESSED!!! my teammates and i would host tournaments sharing devices and all that bc you know. 2010. hahaha
i absolutely love watching people play tho, it's fun!!
What kind of music do you listen to (other than winter falls on loop)
this made me giggle skdjfhsdfhjs i actually listen to a lot of things haha not to be that person but there is not much that i don't like. lately i've been very very deep in my "classics" playlists. I have one for br songs that are mostly MPB which is a wonderful genre, highly recommend it! but there is a bit of samba and bossa nova as well!
my international playlist of classics is a bit of a mess but it consists of songs that, to yours truly, are timeless. it has a bit of everything and goes from hella serious to silly bc it has AC/DC, Queen, Michael Jackson, Cher, Whitney Huston, Aretha Franklin but then there is like... Nickelback. no i'm not joking, timeless shit right there!!!
but it depends a bit on the time of the year too, bc february is axé, funk and these kinds of things bc of carnaval in brazil! lots of samba too bc imagine carnaval without samba, that's crazy work kjsfhds honestly i go from skz to skank (brazilian band, solid fr fr) in a second and then change to sandy e junior bc it might be childish, but it's iconic for a reason hehe
Did you like to dance ? With someone or alone ? Hope the writing is going smoothly :3
hi hi!!
i do hehe i love love love dancing, but i've done it more often than now. i'm not good by any means haha i just think it's really fun! one of my best friends tried to teach me salsa when we were in college, but he failed -- we had lots of fun doing it tho, so it's all that matters. i know a lot of chore from early 2000 up to mid 2010s but mostly for br music haha there were some really fun ones, and others were just questionable on a good day hehe most of these are by myself, and nowadays i mostly dance when im home alone!
writing is going well <3 i think haha taking a lil break before going back in!
Hello :) Did you have a favorite word in portuguese ?
hi!!
omg MANY! ok, there are some popular ones but some are more like... accent? idk at what point an accent becomes a dialect tbh hahaha but!!
these are just a few!! if you are interested in portuguese, make sure to learn the brazilian version bc it's cooler :] (pls if a portuguese person finds this, this is my opinion and just a lighthearted comment)
hi hi, what's your favorite trope to write?
hi hi!! hmmm idk that it's actually a trope but i LOVE inserting the language of flowers in fics whenever i can -- although it's nothing exact and meanings can changes based on the source you use, i think that's what's so exciting about it. someone has one understanding and they put their feelings in the gift which, in turn, makes that understanding right. you know what i mean? like, if i believe that sunflowers mean brightness, and i gift them to you, that's what i'm wishing, that's the meaning that they have.
so while there are somethings that we may perceive as universal, most things are not. i like that someone will look into things carefully and consider what they want to express and automatically give value to something as simple as a flower.
but generally, i like writing complex relationships. i'm not sure i do that super well all the time because i also want gentleness to be everywhere haha it's hard to balance it. tbh i don't think about tropes when i write, i'm thinking more about the characters and their motivations. like ofc tropes will be there!!! but i don't write around them, i write and if they fit, they do!
but if i were to choose a trope, my DREAM is to write a proper rivals to lovers. to explore the negative feelings and how they would transition into positive ones!! i LOVE rivals to lovers and even more enemies to lovers!! but tbh i find it hard to find stories that fit well with the tropes that i genuinely like. it often feels a little one sided, which is what i personally write haha i like the idea of having one sided beef bc i've had them, AND i've been at the receiving end of it - in college, a LOT of people would tell me that they were super intimidated by me before getting to know me. so a few of my coworkers had beef with me before we actually got to know each other sdkjfsdfhs i can a lot, especially when i'm comfortable.
besides. i'm a retired athlete. one sided beefs are common af skdjfhsjdfs
anyway. i don't write with tropes in mind but if i were to do that, it would be rivals to lovers!
beach or mountains for a vacation?
i live in the mountains, and i love the beach.
the thing is: i'm white as a ghost and i'm scared of people, which means the mountains are actually perfect for me! I'm not really afraid of animals, which is concerning to everyone bc every time i see a snake while hiking, my instinct tells me to flip it on it's belly to check if patterns close or if they are open just to know if i'm gonna die or not.
the mountains also have more shade, which is great for me. and since i'm not really tall, i like seeing things from above, and there are very few feelings better than going up up up up just to get to the top and see something cool.
on the other hand: since i could (in theory) go hiking every weekend, but i'm very far from the ocean, i feel like i have to choose it? you know what i mean? i love love love water. even tho im white af, it takes a lot to take me out of the water, which is a problem bc then i burn but it's fine. most of the times it's just my freckles freckling. and at the beach i can walk on the rocks and catch tatuí!!! tatuí, un underrated, cool af lil being. I can also find other little animals and hike along the coast.
also the beach in br is just a vibe. idk man, highly recommend if you have the chance :] food? top notch. views? 11/10. CORN??????
What i'll choose is the first half of the vacation by the sea and the second half in the mountains, preferably down by Itatiaia NP bc i love the atlantic forest and we should appreciate it more.
do you like to cook/bake? if so what's your favorite thing to make?
oh i DO!!! i get lazy sometimes, i'm not gonna lie haha but i think it's fun, especially with other people! when i lived in germany, a good friend (from italy) and I always meet to try new recipes (as many as we could in out tiny apartments, like TINY), and it was a blast bc we would just chat and cook. but i'm more partial to making desserts bc my mom taught me a bunch!!
ok so recipes:
things that require baking:
- orange cake
- pão de queijo (meu país minas gerais, te amo)
- corn cake
- mistão (not br, it's my mom's recipe)
- chocolate chip cookies
things that require cooking:
- plarinê
- bombom de uva (also, morango, coco and nuts)
- orzo! my fav recipe is with tomatoes, mushrooms and spinach.
- risotto
- rice and beans
- i make a lot of things with lentils, chickpeas and other legumes bc i avoid eating meat hehe
- vegetable soup
- potato soup
not cooking nor baking, but i make bomb-ass salads. my dad can confirm
