Aemond is still only a child, and Qoren doesn't want to cause him any harm; it would be wrong of him to take advantage of him like that at his age, so he simply must wait. He just wished that waiting wasn't so difficult. Aemond is doing his best to act like he doesn't care, but he's also tried to subtly approach his husband and perhaps get him to show some interest, but that always ends with Qoren all but running away. Aemond can't help but think that there must be something wrong with him to receive such a reaction. Qoren didn't even seek him when he was in rut. This is humiliating. He's probably spending all of his time with one of his many lovers. Meanwhile Qoren is pacing around his room and making his servants lock him in from the outside to keep him away from Aemond. It does not work.

Well of course he is. And he should see it as an honor. How many lowborn omegas can say that they were chosen by THE House Targaryen as their family omega? Who gets to take care of their pups and sate the needs of their alphas. It is a privilege and a fitting way to correct his earlier behavior. So unomegalike, wanting to be a knight. Where do omegas get such silly ideas? His place is in the Keep, docile and bred. He's lured in with a pup, Egg, who was unwitting in making Dunk so attached to him but he also doesn't want anything bad to happen to Dunk so he urges him to just accept the offer so that they can be together in the Keep. Egg has always wanted to be in an omega's nest where he's coddled and he will soon present, he needs the education that only demonstrations will provide, as will his sisters.

I think that they all just wouldn't like it but wouldn't blame Duncan for it. It's not his fault that he's made to marry one of the Targs (because I always imagine Duncan ending up marrying one of them as not really being his decision). Duncan is a lowborn hedge knight and I think it would further some of their already pre-existing beliefs of the Targs being tyrannical. Thinking this would happen where the trial doesn't happen. Maybe when Aerion called for the trial, he thought Duncan was a beta at least but then somehow it gets out that he's an omega and that makes Aerion think of a better way for him to pay for his crimes since omegas aren't capable of being knights (that omega wiped the floor with him). Idk who I would want Duncan to marry because Aerion could say that he wants to marry him or he could choose Daeron for Duncan to marry because he doesn't care for either of them. Idk just rolling ideas off the top. Even if it was a love match or something, I just think that Duncan has shown himself to be naive so his companions would see him as easily manipulated and still not blame him. It's like having several diehard brothers that hate your husband and love you down. Just remembered you said politically wise. Idk, I think they would want to go against this decision but what can they do, they can't rally enough support to start a full scale rebellion just yet (Helen of Troy Duncan maybe 🤔), I mean maybe they could. Imagine a rebellion starting because some Targaryen wanted a hedge knight bad. I'm burning the red keep down. Or it could go the complete opposite direction where this ensures their support of the Targs. Their loyalty for the correct treatment of Duncan. A kind of emotional blackmail.

Honestly, yeah, I can understand having some hang-ups about the show. My main issue with it is that I didn't reallly mind the changes that they made in the first season because there was still some intrigue to what they were doing, and I hadn't read the book yet. Making Viserys and Alicent's marriage something that she didn't really want makes her later choice to defend her son's succession because she thinks that her family is genuinely unsafe, due to the woman that she once called a friend would have been interesting. The story that they built in the early parts of season 1 was actually pretty good but then season 2 happened and it just was kinda inconsistent with season 1. Also, the women are constantly made to be wishy washy at best. You're telling me that Alicent groomed her sons for the idea that war was inevitable for all the years that they can remember and then suddenly when this inevitable war comes she wants no one to do anything because suddenly she realizes that her feelings for someone that she has not had a kind word for for more years than they were friends is more important than the family that she brought all this on? They could still have Rhaenicent, but there's this strange aversion to toxic yuri all of a sudden. Well, on the side of Alicent, like at least let her want to capture Rhaenyra or something. Make Alicent even more steadfast in her religion while also yearning for Rhaenyra and that turning into a clusterfuck of her wanting to own that bratty princess who always got what she wanted. Now it's Alicent's turn. Give me an Alicent that doesn't always agree with her sons' way of doing things but understands that they're in a war and certain things can be forgive/turned a blind eye to, once they know to bring their pretty half-sister to her unharmed and in chains. Honestly, it's really fun to think about because I think that show Rhaenyra still thinks that there are some things that Alicent limits herself to but war Alicent is different and cruel and fun. Sorry this became a rant about Rhaenicent being better written.

Also the Vermithor thing just makes no sense to me from what I know about the whole dragon lore of it all. I just think that it's some way for them to replicate some Daenerys moment for her. Which, I don't understand why we're trying to reheat GOT nachos when we saw how that ended. Like, let's do better please.

The whole thing with the dance, in my opinion, is that a lot of these people are just not fit for the throne and most people who are, GRRM likes to kill off before they can get a chance to but also you have to question if the people that are assumed best for the throne are really the best for the throne and not just seen through rose-colored glasses tinted by the young blood that was spilt and not actually able to be realized as adults. There's no definitive answer to who someone that died early would grow up to be and even some fans turn a blind eye to undesirable character traits that a prince or princess/lord or lady would grow into as people who usually escape consequences. The guidelines for good varies for highborns. Speculation is not reality and headcanons are just that at the end of the day and my headcanon will not always be a 1:1 with someone else's and that is okay. It depends on how things are dealt with and discussed.

There doesn't seem to be much female Targs around at the same time as Dunk. I've found Aelora, Daenora, Daella and Rhae. They all seem to be younger than Dunk as well. So it would be the older lowborn omega/younger highborn alpha dynamic for all of them.

Aelora, from what I gather would share him with her twin brotherhusband, Aelor. I don't really know their ages but I'm imagining them as old enough to pursue Dunk together. Which is fun, that would fluster Dunk alot, I imagine. He can barely handle one highborn coming after him, two would send him over the edge.

Then there's Daenora, and the only thing that I know about her is that she married her cousin Aerion (gods help her) and was willing to name her son Maegor, I am assuming that was her decision as well. Someone willing to name their baby Maegor is definitely assertive in my head and she would not take Dunk avoiding her because she's highborn very well. She's the type to atticwife Dunk. (I am basing this off vibes)

Daella is Egg's older sister (by a year) and I just think of her having a sort of pup crush on Dunk that she wouldn't outright pursue. Idk, I'm getting shy vibes from the voices in my head. There's nothing backing this. I just think that she would be very hesitant to pursue Dunk, understanding the implications and not wanting to force him into anything but unsure whether she would stay silent if anyone else pursued him, possibly and then it would turn into an affair on the side because one day she just can't take it and Dunk is just one omega. How is he supposed to resist?

Then there's Rhae, who is younger than Egg by a year. Apparently she asked for a love potion to make him fall in love with her so they can marry and I just think that that's someone who knows what they want and would do whatever it takes to get Dunk in her bed and pupped by the end of the night that they first meet. She's putting a love potion in his drink and not thinking about the implications when it works because she's the one with the pretty tall omega now soeveryone can fuck off.

In general terms, just to cover all bases, Duncan with an alpha Targaryen princess would be so flustered. He would want to show off how good of a knight he could be to protect a maiden and they would find it cute that the omega wants to be such a chivalrous knight to them even though most female alphas aren't treated like "fair maidens" once they've already had their ruts. They would say that and Dunk would flush and apologize, shrinking into himself before they explain that they don't mind. I think that they could get away with naming him their sworn protector. Egg would be annoyed because he found Dunk and that's his mama now, please leave him alone. Idk, all this talk about omega Dunk just makes me think of Egg seeing him as his mama and everyone needs to back off right now or he's gonna start throwing wildfire at people.
