I don’t know how top aemond stans do it, especially if they are lucemonds. nearly every fic is about what a monster aemond is, how undeserving he is of lucerys, how he should be grateful for being allowed to be around/loved by him, how no one trust him and think him a threat to the lives of everyone but lucerys and his opinions change that, how only lucerys can make other people see the good in him, how he has changed lucerys for the worst, how he has stolen rhaenyra’s sweet boy, how lucerys can’t do anything wrong, aemond being accused of intentionally hurting lucerys, or of not being able to control himself around lucerys, or people, especially rhaenyra and daemon, yelling at him over lucerys even when he’s done nothing wrong. somehow aemond is always in the wrong, always making troubles for everyone, always being a thorn, always doing too much, never right, always wrong. how do they not get exhausted? I suppose they don’t care too much since top aemond lucemonders kind of have a hate boner for him lol.
See it's this brand of topmond that just really makes me hate it. At best I was indifferent to it but sometimes posts pop up on my tl because twitter thinks I wanna see that shit (I follow some switchmonds and so that fucks with the algorithim I guess, nothing against them, I know twitter is stupid) and I want to bleach my eyeballs. Some topmonds seem to genuinely hate him and it's not even in the way that some might say "oh you say that character is your fave but look at all this angst you're putting them through, you must hate them" and this may even be said in a joking tone but I mean actually they hate everything about Aemond and maybe I could understand it if Lucemond wasn't these people's main ship but god they act like there's no other ships out there in the world, and I saw that happening a little bit with the Aegond fandom after season two. It's like as soon as someone hates Aemond they have to write them topping their fave while being the worst person imaginable and I just don't get it. I'm like trying to wrap my head around it but it's still just insane to me. And it's not even them hating Aemond that gets me, it's them mischaracterizing him in the worst ways possible. Why are they always massacring my boy? He would not be fucking doing and saying all that. The fucking maidenhead obsession thing people have going on, please leave rn. That boy shakes and almost throws up at the idea of sex. Let's be realistic. Popular Jock Aemond?? Who the fuck are we talking about rn? Even if he was a jock, which sure he can be, he's sure as shit not popular and his only friend is his coach Criston because that is literally his canon fucking life. And honestly not one to really harp on fucking realism in fics, live your life and go crazy in my opinion but these motherfuckers will be the same ones saying all of this for bottomonds, like, you can have dom daddy cold hearted dark prince Aemond but I can't even have my little pillow princess sub Aemond without you pitching a bitch fit about how it's "unrealistic" and "let men be masculine". Also topmonds that are Lucemonds get real weird and fucking disrespectful when they talk about Ewan's looks as if he isn't hot and pretty but whatever. Sorry I forgot there was a height requirement for bottoming/being an omega. Gotta be the size of tinkerbell to take anything up the ass I guess. Then these will be the same people complaining about there being top/bottom discourse when it's in their favor. Also, would like to put a disclaimer here at the end here because I'm stopping right here before I find more things to be pissed about. If you are not like these topmonds, I am not addressing you. I ship Lucemond and Aegond. I am bottomond only and I did try topmond earlier when I entered the fandom and there was no joy in it so I'm knocking it after I tried it and I'm not even talking about reading fics, I'm talking about writing them. I do not care what your preference for Aemond is as long as we can be cordial with each other, I am moots with switchmonds and some topmonds and Lucemond shippers and Aegond shippers and a variety of other people because at the end of the day this is fiction and I love my moots and respect that they have their own preferences. Even if we ship the same ship and prefer our characters in the same way, we may not exactly agree on characterization the whole way and that's fine. People are individuals and no two people are the same. Hope that I didn't come off like a bitch.

This is the only fandom that will deny something that the author has either written down or spoken about. Grrm can say the sky is blue, and thousands of his fans will argue otherwise, while calling him names, of course. People really think they know more about his books and characters than he does, it’s so baffling.
Yeah this fandom will always have people who believe themselves to be a better understander of what he wrote than GRRM himself. At this point I'm just tired of seeing it. It's fine to have critiques, not everything is without flaws, but the author of your fave series with a million different plotlines that he has to keep straight very meticulously because somehow everything has to connect is not dumb you guys.

Saera was definitely out of line for comparing herself to Maegor! Sorry, but I completely understand why Jaehaerys lost his temper after she said that. Honestly, this is the only moment I can see his anger justified. That man destroyed his family, Maegor fought and killed one of his brothers in battle, tortured another to death, refused to give his brother a proper Targaryen funeral, allowing his body to rot in the courtyard, married his older sister against her will, and abused her. I would have lost it so badly that even people in Dorne would have heard my screams.
Don’t get me wrong, I sympathize with Saera, just as I do with all of Jaehaerys and Alysanne’s children, but sometimes it just reaches a breaking point. Aegon the Conqueror was right there; Saera shouldn’t have compared herself to Maegor.
I do think Jaehaerys could have handled it differently because, despite her flaws, Saera was still his young daughter. It was his duty as a father to protect her and guide her towards a better path. I believe she was most likely trafficked, which is terrible and beyond words. That wasn’t what Jaehaerys intended, but it’s what happened nonetheless. In my opinion, neither Jaehaerys nor Alysanne were truly prepared for parenthood or fully aware of what it entailed, which is crazy considering they had so many children, many of whom they neglected, whether intentionally or unintentionally. I think they were more worried about securing their line or the crown than about their children.
I also believe Saera wasn’t entirely a good person, and she’s not portrayed as such. I can sympathize with her, but I also understand that she was both a victim and a perpetrator, like many complex cases. It’s honestly so hard to discuss the Targaryens from this era because I don’t want to come off as an enabler or supporter of something I don’t endorse, nor do I want to seem unsympathetic. It was a very complicated situation, and it ultimately went the worst way possible.
Saera comparing herself to Maegor was out of line and I think it she was made to say it because she is a neglected kid who acts out to get the attention that she never does. She was able to do whatever she wanted because she was never really looked after. She's a princess and the things that she was capable of doing out of boredom weren't that great but that behavior does not exist in a vacuum, it came from somewhere. Nothing she ever said or did ever mattered to her father before, and that was Jaehaerys' mistake. Saera had never felt consequences in the way he doled them out at that time and the only thing she knew to do was to rebel and fight back. She has been given so much freedom, that man that wants to control her now after permitting everything else she's ever done is someone she will want to hurt. I think that Maegor comment was meant to hurt Jaehaerys and it did but it lit something inside of her father that Saera probably only ever heard about and never saw, this is what happens when children do not know their parents well enough to know where the limit is. Jaehaerys took things way further than he needed and in doing that he assured that Saera would run away and she would have had to be taken in by someone and there was no other work that she could have done than being a whore.
Jaehaerys and Alysanne were raised in war and they have a toxic codependency due to that time. They have no examples of what a good marriage or good parenting looks like. They didn't have the time to focus on those kinds of things. Alyssanne probably didn't truly want kids out of anything more than duty because she basically states how she would've been a maester if she were a man. I think that they may have loved their kids but they were shit parents and they would have been better not being parents. I mean look at their kids and the fact that Jaehaerys gave his blessing to his granddaughter to marry someone that was her father's age. Are you actually kidding me? That family is so fucked and needed to go. No more incest for the Targaryens; they're doing something wrong. Give the incest to the other houses who will appreciate it more. They fucked up being nepobabies, like, it's bad.

Not a single Targaryen man ever giving birth. Hmmm. That makes zero sense. I know for a fact some of the men in Old Valyria were giving birth left and right. Joke aside, I do think it’s interesting that GRRM made it a point to let people know that dragons can change sexes, and that there have been targaryens born with hermaphroditism, stillborn, of course. it makes me wonder if this is something that will come up in the future books, winds? Maybe? I know that someone people believe Viserion is either a female dragon already or that Viserion will turn itself into a female dragon because of the nesting behavior it has exhibited already. So, it is very fun to theorize on this.
Anyway, I think GRRM is a bit of a coward (joke) and he needs to give us the Mpreg that was promised.
If GRRM had implemented Mpreg in his story, things would have gone a lot smoother. Also, the dragons changing sexes probably has something to do with the amount of males/females in a given population, since it is something that does happen irl for certain animals, where they see the gap in the population and to increase the opportunity for procreation, they change sexes. It would seem magical to anyone that saw it and if Valyrian blood magic is a thing, and in the height of Old Valyria such things were the norm, then that wouldn't really be out of the realm of possibility. Valyrians using magic to emulate their dragons and the such. I do like the idea of dragons just being both sexes, no one has ever really been brave enough to check. Perhaps someone will be one day.

Lyonel should’ve kept fighting but nooooooooo he conveniently wanted to fuck his stepmother who conveniently seemed to be team black (really grrm? this man and his favoritism) and now Oldtown is about to be bitch slap in the main series by Euron, his Valyrian armor, his dragon horn, and his army of bums 😭 This will be like the burning of the library of Alexandria but 1000000x worse in universe, if Euron succeeds will Oldtown be the Pompeii of Westeros? The Seven need to do something or my lovely people at Oldtown are going to get cooked
The Tyrells did also have his brother as a hostage and I honestly do think that did play a part in it but also Lyonel did what Robb was accused of doing in my opinion. He's a teen boy who was speculated to be in love with his stepmother since she married his dad and they're closer in age. Said stepmother saw the opportunity to marry a younger man and still keep her position as lady of the house and took it, if she also played politics on the favor of her family, then that happens. Honestly sometimes a lot of plot points just feel like convenience, it happens. Also, from what I've heard about what's going on in ASOIAF, Oldtown is going to be fucked up and some of my babies are currently there, are they gonna be okay? Can GRRM not do that to me. I am not prepared for that. Leave Oldtown alone, let a strong wind steer Euron away or is he there already. I am scared.

Yeah, there probably were bastards of Aegon running around somewhere. And I want to know if anything happened to Aemond's son. Just had to search up House Whent and the 9 black bats kinda just confirmed things to me. I wonder what F&B vol 2 would hold though. I genuinely did like reading vol 1, seeing the biases held by certain people and what GRRM felt would be seen as important enough to make it into this kind of recording.

I have nothing against aerion but it’s fuck him and his dumbass fans they need to keep aemond’s name out of their mouths. their show isn’t even out yet they’re already running their mouths like crazy. just annoying and stupid as fuck, acting like most people that support the greens give a fuck about house targaryen, we really don’t. acting all mighty and superior like house targaryen isn’t practically extinct in the main series.
I honestly know fuck all about Aerion, and I did see some things where people were talking about him and Aemond, but I knew reading any further would piss me off, so I just scrolled away. I can't really imagine what they're saying. What is there to say? If it's more of the pure Valyrian blood bullshit then I really am uninterested. This fandom and the blood purity obsession is getting tiring honestly. I would rather just ignore those people, they need to seek some sort of help that I am not equipped to give them. If they feel like a character is better because they're more "pure-blooded" than another character then that's on them. I'm leaving that to God.

I’d be so embarrassed if I were condal and hess…I’m so embarrassed for them omg……the new show looks amazing and everyone seems so excited for it meanwhile most people have lost all hope/real interest for hotd, seem to be hate watching it rather than enjoying it, and viewership numbers dropped heavily during season two, like fourteen percent per episode. this is so embarrassing for them.
Well, I think that it should be expected for viewership to drop when people have to wait two years for a season. Most people who watched the first season probably forgot the show existed. Also a new show always comes with hope though discourse has already started around it, so I just know my tl will get annoying when it actually comes out. Honestly, I don't really follow anything dealing with condal or hess unless I see it on my tl. I am just here for Aemond and do not deep dive into anything that has the potential to piss me off. I'm not really following the analytics of the show because I'm still watching and that's all that matters to me. But that's my attitude to all shows.
