Have you ever taken a looooong hiatus from writing and if so how did you get back to it ? Alternatively what advice do you have for a sucker (me) who hasn't written in so long they forgot how to write
mhhh i did go years before i started writing again in 2023 but since then i havent gone more than a few months without writing tbh. tho i feel like i forgot every word in the english language every time i start working on a new project, so what i do is just get the main ideas down on the page, write as much as i can even if its terrible and sounds ugly, ill make it pretty later. the most important thing for me is get into a flow and really get an idea of where i wanna go with the story. then i do a hell of a lot of editing (sometimes even rewrite a whole scene or even chapter if its a long fic skfjnsg). so, tl;dr, just power through the ugly phase, like in painting skdjfs
