Do you ever write for someone specific? Or is it just the act of saying it?

that’s such a lovely question
sometimes i write to a version of myself that almost made it
other times i think i’m writing to someone i haven’t met yet
either way, it feels like lighting a match in the dark
just in case someone’s walking by
