i read your bin & geon ppl-pleasing dissection on priv before and now on main, and it still hits so true. my bias is geon so i already noticed that side of him, but with bin, at first when i just got to know them, i was amazed. like hes literally perfect. i never saw him lose his temper or raise his voice at anyone and i kept thinking, how is this real? is this really his personality, or is it like something built for him, by him or maybe by the company? but later when i got to know him more, i realized he’s genuinely kind, like a real ray of sunshine, full of leadership qualities i admire… but that first impression always sticks with me. and when we add his people pleasing tendencies on top of that, i cant help but think about how he has a certain smile he uses to laugh things off in certain situations. that image kinda stuck with him to the point that hes not allowed to have any flaws, not by the public, and not even by himself. he holds himself to the same impossible standard ppl expect from him and it’s high as hell
anonie this was beautiful to read. i felt the same way, in fact, i was a bit repelled at first by just how polished bin's personality was, it felt like it just couldn't be true to be that kind and generous and uplifting, especially given where exactly that personality started showing (a fuck ass svs). but the more i watched him, the more attention i paid him, it became so obvious to me that this was him, that was just him, and my immediate thought was "oh, he must struggle a lot." not because he gives miserable vibes or forced vibes, it's just that i'm aware just how insanely heavy the weight of your own perfectionism can be. and this is all without even touching on the weight of being a leader. leaders in kpop always fascinate me. there's something very intricate about the way they Have to present themselves, how they have to carry not only themselves but also a group of people under their care and the public perception of all of them, and bin isn't the exception to this rule. it's a fascinating topic to me overall, but bin is one of those cases that make me want to dissect him more than anyone, probably bc we're the same age, so i cant help but compare our mindsets at this age lol. but anyway, thank you so much for sharing this and im very glad that you liked my dissection :]
