hii! i just wanted do tell you that while i have only read 'down to the bone', i am sure you are incapable of creating 'mid slop'. dttb was intricate, complex, and haunting, and it was genuinely touching. I think you are such a beautiful writer, and i will be reading the rest of your work, because i think the way you can create such immersive plots and dynamic characters is so special. also i dont know if this is intentional, but dttb reminds me of the roblox games The Mimic and Doors! Im pretty sure The Mimic is also set in Japan! I literally left wondering if it was a Doors x Mimic AU! it's so cool and creepy, i love the horror :))
hi okay first of all THANK YOU for this lovely compliment it genuinely means so much to me. i’m so so happy you like the fic because i really was just writing it for me and wasn’t sure anyone would be interested. BUT! i’ve been waiting for a chance to say this but while it’s not based on that, it is very loosely based on a video game. i say loosely because my favorite streamer was playing a game one night called “the pale mimic” and i didn’t even really watch much of the gameplay because i was multitasking but just the game title and a single snippet of gameplay of the player in a cabin gave me the fic idea. so i’m so happy you asked hehe. i will have to check out the roblox game thank you for telling me about it!!
