I find when I write I have a hard time finding my voice. So I tend to delete my draft in less than 24hrs. Do you have any tips to help prevent this?-🐚

Hello, seashell anon. I’ll try my best to help you through my answer.

I think one of the ways to try and find your voice while writing is to immerse yourself in what you’re writing. Use all your senses if you have to. Get crazy with it, imagine how you want your writing to feel, smell like and taste like. Be aware of the feelings you want to evoke and the reactions you want people to have. Even if the writing is just for you, let your mind go and have the vibe of what you’re writing take over. Submit completely to creativity.

Also, allow yourself to experiment. Nothing in life is linear. You can revisit things later and revise them later. Try to think of your drafts as progress or milestones, don’t delete them. You can learn from them. Don’t try so hard to find a singular voice. Sometimes different ideas call for a different narrator. Be open and expansive, open-minded instead of judgmental, and most importantly allow it to take time. Enjoy the journey, or at least make the effort to. It’s less stressful that way.

Thank you for this ask and have a wonderful day. Much love, anon. I hope this helped. Mwah
