hal… how do you feel about people liking airports pics of idols or following accounts that frequently have these close up pictures of idols? i’m generally new to kpop (2025) and i always see discussions about how either a) it’s not okay becuz it disrupts the idols privacy, etc or b) it’s fine because it’s part of idol culture. (not trying to make u the spokesperson or anything btw im just curious 😭😭)
i think it's highly contextual!!!! very much depends on the situation. which isn't really an answer but it's pretty easy to tell which photographers are following rules and which aren't. anything taken past security is a hard no. anyone that is crossing boundaries is a hard no. anyone making them look visibly uncomfortable. Yelling at them. etc. anything that's taken at an airport outside of kr is very questionable most of the time. There's a whole separate question of if the culture of showing up at the airport for idol arrivals is ethical, but that's like a different can of worms. it's very much a cultural thing to show up and take photos-- that's why idols treat it like a mini fashion show lmafonoifnnf
but, yeah, it's usually a best judgment thing. if an idol doesn't want to be photographed, you can usually tell. you can also usually tell if it's a creep shot past security or not.
