hal do you think law school prepared you for the writing you do in your free time? (ik law school writing is more for being concise and understandable) but i was just wondering if you took any of what you learned and applied it to fanfic? or did you just learn as you wrote each fic? because im always amazed with your fics and wish i was as good as you :0
hello! law school definitely taught me how to write a lot quickly. it kind of changes your thinking style to be more analytical and logical-- which definitely changed the way i read in general, but also probably how i write. i will say i think that a lot of my fanfiction writing style and 'skill' comes from myself rather than my education-- i've been super active in fan spaces since i was a kid. even though i didn't write until 2023, ive been reading fic my whole life. i read a lot, and then when i started writing i was NAWT good, but the more i did it the more i fell into my own style and figured out what i like and how to do it properly!!! so i think law school gave me a lot of the technical stuff (writing speed and thought process) but practice is the rest of it!!! keep writing!!!! u've got this!!! thank u so much for the kind words <3
