hiiii ik i'm just a random stranger but i wanted to come on here and tell u that i finished reading chasing sunlight the other day and i literally haven't been able to stop thinking abt it ever since (╥﹏╥) istg the emotional turmoil that i was put through while reading the story ｡°(°¯᷄◠¯᷅°)°｡ my eyes still kind of sting from the tears i shed while reading (thank you to my blanket and pillows for wiping all my tears for me i promise i'll give y'all a good wash you soon ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و)
a lot of moments rlly stood out to me especially the one when jake went home and said goodbye to his mother one last time idk why that broke me sm ehe.. (ㆆ_ㆆ) also the scene when jake went to visit riki with jay and broke down because he couldn't remember his voice anymore (RIKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII 💔💔💔 .·°՞(っ-ᯅ-ς)՞°·.) i feel so bad for jake in this fic man like if i were him i would've just kmsed 😂✌️ (i'm kidding plz don't take me srsly :P)
although i must say, my all time FAVORITE moment in this fic has to be when jayke went on an arcade date and jay kissed jake's cheek in the photobooth EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE I WAS GIGGLING AND KICKING MY FEET AT 3 IN THE MORNING EHEHEHEHE (♡ˊ͈ ꒳ ˋ͈) don't get me wrong i love me some good angst but i'll always be a sucker for tooth-rotting fluff chef's kiss
anyways srry for this mini ramble i just have sm love for this fic that i just had to share it out and i will never forgive you for the damage you have caused to my heart and soul (⇀‸↼‶) /j

i think that scene w jake and his mom is so emotional for me too ;-; i think i cried writing it iirc. it was hard to write bc i could never imagine going no contact w my mom but im in a good situation compared to jake in this fic… theres something so eerily tender about the moment despite it being so sad and heartbreaking:(
and you get it. YOU GRT ITTTT “i cant remember the sound of his voice” i cried writing this part too 😭😭 i stg they deserved to be endgame FAWWKKKK but if they were we wouldnt have our sweet jayke …… believe it or not riki in this fic is based on my late friend who passed in 2022, i had just met her before she died and it lowkey #traumatized me so i wanted to put a piece of her in this story. im rly glad it touched you in that way bc of this reason 🥹🥹
