hii i have a question that i need to ask a fic writer so here goes... theres this minsung fic on ao3 and its probably one of my favorites in the entire fic universe bc the plot is insane, but its unfinished🥲the author kinda just disappeared off of ao3 and twitter, and i think they just didn't know what to do with the plot. i'm wondering is it ethical to ask a writer if they would finish it? like if they were interested? honestly it lowk sounds unethical but i'm just curious! link to the fic is here if you'd like to read -> https://archiveofourown.org/works/47140939/chapters/118772422
Hi dear anon, I would def say that it’s unethical because there’s no way for us to loop in the actual author of the work and they have every right to decide if their universe is reimagined by another person. Usually I would suggest commenting on all of the 12 chapters and expressing your love for the fic to the author, but this fic is orphaned and it really is the greatest tragedy of the orphaned fic that the author will never be notified of their comments. HOWEVER they could still technically see the comments if they decide to look the fic up manually at any time and I’d say if you love it then play the long game and express ur love in the comment section!! It never goes to waste either way ❤️
