On minhee in tldr alpha bait - because a lot of minhee's feelings about her transness and her subgender in the fic are caught 'in the middle' (in medias res, if u will) so she feels them from a distance, kinda like how you'd feel about huge life events when you've come out on the other side of them.

In my head the timeline was something like minhee presenting at around 23, which is significantly late for the universe she’s in. At the time, she would have already been transitioning in the ways that she wanted to, which would’ve included her starting hormone therapy and becoming the butch lesbian she’s always dreamed about being (And her hormone therapy changes her chest in some ways, so depending on how she feels that day, she likes to wear her chest tape)

I like to think of her getting 6 different ear piercings and changing up her hair to celebrate feeling almost like herself and THEN! Her presentation happens. On the presentation side of things I envisioned minhee always feeling an internal sense of inadequacy or even dysphoria at times because her late presentation could mean that she wouldn’t present at all and she has a lot of feelings about wanting to be an alpha but believes herself to be unfit for alphahood (subconsciously) because the alpha version of herself feels like a pipe dream and for so long she felt displaced in who she is that thinking of her with an identity that centres around stability, thoughtfulness, strength, and discipline (which I like to think are the four pillars of alpha-ness (non-exhaustive list, I think)) would’ve meant reaching for the stars

But then she presents!! And it feels like some kind of internal validation from her own body that she can indeed become the woman she wants to be :)!! Not to say that she wouldn’t have eventually found peace without her lack of presentation, but I think she was going through it trying to reconcile who she thought she was in her mind and who she thought she was to everyone else. But even the presentation is difficult because it fucks with the stability of her transition - which is only midway still - and rocks the boat that is her body. her first rut is a shock to her system and when she comes out of it she starts RELIGIOUSLY strength training so her body can never catch her by surprise ever again - and so by the time we meet the minhee in the fic, she’s functionally strong as hell, she’s #alphagoals, and she can knot like her life depends on it

And in this universe, every alpha does not, indeed, knot—which is why jisung is so shocked when she finds out that minhee can knot and that she has a cock and i imagine minhee doesn’t say a lot about her transition unless someone she cares about is curious about her past and actually asks her. Jisung knows about minhee’s late presentation because the first time she saw minhee in rut, her scent was uncontrolled the way it is with alphas who presented in the last 5-ish years

And that scene where jisung helps minhee take her chest tape off - it’s definitely not jisung’s first time watching minhee take it off and it’s not jisung’s first time helping but she’s still new to it which is why jisung seems a little nervous but she knows instinctively that it’s time for minhee to take it off
