jisung is Thee trinket collector of all time and the bit about her being even more obsessed with nana!!! exactly. I feel like jisung would talk mnh into matching mitsuaya pfps. she'd would dye her hair fun colours all the time meanwhile mnh's the kind of woman who loves fun colours but she dyes it on a schedule so she'll wait until her healthy hair comes back and then randomly decide to go full blue or blonde. I think mnh would present as masc (or be a butch!). I can see the futch vision for mnh as well but when she's in her element she's masculine and confident about it. in my mind she likes traditionally feminine things and she's also comfortable with herself enough to not have that detract from how she presents. she'd be super enthusiastic about how comfortable her clothes are for sure. I think mnh is an accessory lover like she likes earrings and rings and has comfort jewellery that she always wears. and also she doesn't like to show skin but she Knows how to be a little slutty with it like v neck shirts and rolled up sleeves and so many tank tops.....in line with ur mnh knowing she was a lesbian since she was young theory I think she'd also have a lot of time to be super comfy with her gender. in my head she wears a lot of masculine silhouettes and cuts her hair short(er) pretty early on. and she'd haaaaaate people assuming she's tough and emotionless. and if we're feeling particularly butch minhee-pilled tonight I think mnh would wear trans tape on days she wants her shirts to fall flat over chest :)

and I've always imagined jisung to have gone through an extended struggle w comp het and then during her baby gay era she BINGES every piece of queer media she can find so she has this whole library of movies and she's super passionate about queerbaiting in media and can go off on a multiple hour tangent about it...I think one of her fav movies is bound (1996) and she has an abandoned Tumblr account from her og fujoshi days (her halloween costume this year is going to be from debs)

Of course!! I’ll give you some homework. listen to your favourite songs and think about it. do you like songs with bridges? When you love an album, do you tend to like the interludes? repeated choruses? or maybe instrumentals, no lyrics. beat drops. Maybe you like it all, but there’s this one snare in the background that makes this song the one for you. I know it sounds a little abstract, but words have rhythm, and the kind of rhythms you will write are a mirror to the kind of things you like to listen to. put the pieces of songs you love together and you'll get your voice. do this with any of your fav art mediums. finding your voice is just finishing a puzzle of the things you love.

A writer is a reader. read your favourite things, pick them apart. Find a word you love that an author used in a way that you thought was really cool. commit it to memory, use it in different ways. It’s like a moodboard, actually. You don’t have to actually put it down anywhere, but be active about the way you consume your favourite art. It’ll stick with you in ways that make you wanna play with it

once you make the (mental) collage of the things you love I want you to open a blank doc, take a blank piece of paper, whatever you prefer. Grab a pen or start typing and don’t stop to edit. Write the way that you think. the little quirks that the voice in your head has are also part of your writing style. I love when writers put their brain to paper and use all the brackets, semi colons, question marks, (whatever else!), to accessorise their prose. But to get to the accessories you have to blurt on paper (or screen). Don’t edit and once you have your text—dig!! Find the parts you love. Find what you love about it. Don’t delete your scraps, please. you never know how they’ll come back to you, renewed with your voice.

And obviously if the above feels like it isn’t the way for you, then I still think you should go back to your favourite art, read what you love, and blurt onto a piece of paper/your screen

Thank u sooooo very much <3333 for your sweet words and trusting me with my taste in published fiction...I'll admit my recommendations are all very dated because I'm recovering from a general burn out caused by too much literary fiction stuffed into my brain during the course of a degree, but if I had to pick a few favourites: I love virginia woolf's mrs dalloway for its stream of consciousness and its focus on loneliness, I used to love rereading my copy of Alice walker's the colour purple when I was 20 (warnings for content if you've never read it), I've recommended it before but I'll never not praise lamya h's hijab butch blues for a non fiction memoir read, and always always always this is how you lose the time war by Amal El-Mohtar and max gladstone, which is the book where my love for the epistolary, time-related fiction, and romance bound by some kind of governing tension lives
