My most offensive take is that I can see how people can be attracted to lolis or shotas and not be pedophiles: Because I think lolis and shotas are adorable while I think real life children are fucking disgusting looking. I'm sorry but this is my truth.
I debated responding to this cuz for me it doesn't pass the vibe check. "Children are hideous" and "I hate children" as proof that someone isn't a pedophile doesn't land for me because it feels so performative. Maybe it isn't performative for you, I dunno, that's just how it parses to me.
For me, it's not that I find children ugly, I just don't find them attractive. They're kids. Similarly, I don't hate kids. I do prefer to avoid interacting with them a lot of the time but that's more I just don't know how to interact with children and I'm socially awkward enough as is.
Just be normal about kids.
