hi anon!!! i think that’s a very common struggle and my go to is often song lyrics. “grand pianos crash together” comes from the magnetic fields’ “when my boy walks down the street,” which i felt fit the vibe of the story, striking a balance between sweetness and grandeur. years ago, i read a fic for a different fandom with the same title, which has since been deleted (a shame, because the story was life changing!!!) and when i was thinking about what to name this fic, that title just kept popping up my mind until it finally couldn’t have been named anything else
