I'm mostly neutral about DD Hazbin week but I have just one concern: Doesn't giving ways and helping people to post anonymously maybe indirectly encourage users to be dishonest to mutuals or people they follow and regularly interact with who may have well known personal boundaries or DNIs? Like wouldn't it be better to encourage honesty and just owning what they like so to allow both sides to stay in their own area of fandom and help them avoid eachother better?
I think if anything it risks more drama if say one user finds out or recognizes an art style while scrolling a little too late as one of their close mutuals they've been clear before about not wanting to interact with certain people, promoting secrecy around it might encourage people to disregard DNI signs or break boundaries or worse if paranoid ass users start "investigations" whenever they see an anonymous post so they can publicly warn others instead of just quietly blocking and moving on because to them since it's not well known if it's an anon post and they feel like they have to tell everyone.

Both sides understandable have gotten upset whenever they find out someone they are close with is either secretly an anti or proshipper/dead dover, Wouldn't it help both sides to encourage just being upfront about it and not actively helping to post anonymously? Not saying to make it against the rules but helping? Feels off. Sorry for long question but I am concerned what type of drama may come from promoting anon posting especially since it doesn't give people a chance to respectfully block users from the get go and can give the dead dove community even more hate than they already have by making it look like they don't respect DNIs or are dishonest to mutuals and followers. I hope you guys can consider my concern for BOTH sides benefits. Transparency helps everyone avoid those they aren't comfortable with and get their preferred group to mingle with, you get what I mean?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and concerns, we truly appreciate it! It’s clear you’re coming from a place of care.

As a certified yapper, my own response turned into an essay ajsdjgnsd so I'll share only the tl;dr version here, and you can read the full on my bsky:

The option to post things anonymously is not new (the biggest Anonymous collection on AO3 has 200k+ works!) and it’s purpose is to serve as an added layer of safety & comfort to the creator, not to “encourage dishonesty” among fans. I know that’s how antis view it, when someone they thought morally correct turns out to be a proshipper, but that doesn’t mean that this view holds any water, and we shouldn’t entertain it.

No, posting anonymously is not risk free, for multiple reasons. It’s on the individual creators to assess the pros and cons and decide whether it’s worth the risk for them or not. If someone is close with antis and/or super anxious about being found out, they should probably not be participating.
