Im a bit conflicted, there's this project that looks pretty interesting called "animal crossing plus" that aims to backport large parts of future animal crossing games back to the gamecube game, the problem is the creator does use Ai to vibecode parts of the project. They say that its only smaller/more annoying parts with it only being code and no other assets and when I asked them about it they keep saying "its just a for fun project". Would I wrong if I played there mod? The entire ac modding community uses vibe coding for there mods but they are the only one disclosing it so there aren't really any alternatives ☹️ and ive basically gotten everything I could out of the original (also sorry for long question)

i'm going to take a different approach, for a moment. let me try and distill the issue down.

you have run out of unique content to consume from a game. you are confident that all (or functionally all) mods for this game are vibe coded. you want to know if you would be "wrong" for using one.

the bits about who admits it and who doesn't isn't relevant, same for the actual game in question. you want something, but the only thing on offer is ai-assisted. will you be in the wrong for using it?

the only person who can make that decision is you.

i can tell you that i would personally not play it, and that i would have an opinion of people who did, but ultimately, what /I/ think only matters as much as you want it to. if you download it and play it and don't tell anyone, then the only person to judge you is yourself.

you didn't ask this question, but you can always consider alternatives. there may be other games that are similar to animal crossing that you haven't played, or maybe it's just time to move on and have fun with something else for a while. not everything needs to live forever.
