Hi kak. I really wanna know your opinion about this one. In this economy, where the price of books is same as daily needs, is it permissible to read illegal books like e-books that have been published on several websites? Because for a month I've been reading books from gdrive that shared by people on X (I really apologize for this) and ipusnas for sure. Thank you!
Hello. This might be controversial, but my take on this is that I will only read illegal epub/ebook from international authors only, and will not pirate Indonesian authors books. I know the access to books right now is insane—300k for international book?? That’s crazy. You can use 300k for a whole week meals or even more. If you want to feel less guilty, then maybe you can download ebooks that are now in public domain. Check goodreads “public domain books” to see which books that are listed as public domain and are free to read.
For Indonesian books, yes I think it’s recommended to use ipusnas. Let’s support local authors yaaa by only buying their physical books.
