I've found that my experience with social media is vastly improved like this. IMO the ways you can interact with posts that aren't replies already cover all the bases, right? If you want to signal approval click the heart button and if you want to signal disapproval I probably don't wanna see it. I don't really post a lot of discussion-worthy things or questions, and if I do ask something I'd probably open replies for that post. As a streamer (or ex-streamer or whatever) I've had enough interactions with people I would rather not interact with and curating what I see on social media has made my life much better. Not to say that YOUR replies would be bad but keeping replies open to only ppl I follow makes it a lot easier for me to even bother posting anything at all.
