Well, based on the top ten list I made a while back, aside from more popular ones like pokemon, FFV, and zelda, I'd recommend Azure Dreams, which is a roguelike similar to mystery dungeon but with a monster raising aspect to it. Speaking of monster raisers, Monster Rancher 2 is really good, it plays more like an actual simulation game compared to pokemon. Probably the most obscure thing I can recommend is Team Buddies, a PS1 game that's a mix of a squad based shooter and a strategy game, where little balloon guys shoot each other. It's been a long time since I last played it, but I remember it having a really fun multiplayer mode. And of course, any of the Way of the Samurai games. I've only played 1 and 3, but they're great little games that act sorta like CYOA stories where you're given a lot of decisions on how the story plays out.
