Hes somewhat interested. It wasn't his first choice so he does lean more towards "just a job" but he at least likes it. Mike thinks very negatively about himself and felt uncomfortable with the idea of going into anything where he interacts directly with patients. He doesn't feel like he's capable or trustworthy enough to be in charge of people directly. So a job with minimal 1:1 interaction with patients felt perfect with him, its also very specialized and made it easier for him to find a job away from his hometown and family.
