This is the first time I'm participating in a fest as a writer on AO3. I'd like to better understand how to submit my story on AO3. Do I log into my profile, go to "AO3 Collection", click "Post to Collection" and then post my story, or do I save it as a draft? (Sorry everyone, I've never done this before and I want to do it correctly lol) Second question: Can I post my story in both English and Portuguese? (I know the fest have moderators who speak both languages). Will a beta reader have access to my story to correct any typos? (I promise the questions end here lol)
Hi! No need to apologize! Firstly, if you’d like a beta reader, please request one before you post to ao3; it’s easier for y’all to work together through whatever you’re using to write. Secondly, yes! You got the steps right! Log in, go to collection, post to collection, and then post it! Don’t do a draft, actually post it. It will then say it is waiting for approval by collection mods. But again, I would only post to ao3 AFTER you work with a beta (if you’d like a beta). And finally, yes, you may post in both languages. I’ll update our submission form so you can let us know what languages you have posted in. (Only do the submission form once you’ve posted to ao3.)
