A fest to celebrate all things Bottom Lee Know
512
This is the first time I'm participating in a fest as a writer on AO3. I'd like to better understand how to submit my story on AO3. Do I log into my profile, go to "AO3 Collection", click "Post to Collection" and then post my story, or do I save it as a draft? (Sorry everyone, I've never done this before and I want to do it correctly lol) Second question: Can I post my story in both English and Portuguese? (I know the fest have moderators who speak both languages). Will a beta reader have access to my story to correct any typos? (I promise the questions end here lol)
Hi! No need to apologize! Firstly, if you’d like a beta reader, please request one before you post to ao3; it’s easier for y’all to work together through whatever you’re using to write. Secondly, yes! You got the steps right! Log in, go to collection, post to collection, and then post it! Don’t do a draft, actually post it. It will then say it is waiting for approval by collection mods. But again, I would only post to ao3 AFTER you work with a beta (if you’d like a beta). And finally, yes, you may post in both languages. I’ll update our submission form so you can let us know what languages you have posted in. (Only do the submission form once you’ve posted to ao3.) Hope that helps! Reach out via here or email if you need any more assistance! We’re happy to help.
Guys, I apologize for asking this question. It's probably answered in the rules, but since I wanted to be absolutely sure, I came here: after finishing my fanfic for the festival, what should I do? Where should I send it?
Hi no problem! We just posted our submission form! It will link you to the AO3 collection where you can post your fic. See the link below to submit your fic! reach out if you have any other questions, either here or through email.

We can no longer see if our prompt has been claimed ?
What do you mean? Do you mean that claimed prompts are gone from the table? If you go here, you should be able to see all of the claimed prompts (sorry for the ugly link) https://bottomlinofest.notion.site/Claimed-Prompts-33def429ceda80588499ec2ba8f224ed
hi guys! quick question but, can we cross over our fics with bingos?
hey! you absolutely can, just remember that our author reveals are scheduled for September 15th as of currently, so nothing you do will have your name attached until that point. As long as the timing works out, you’re welcome to cross over!
Hi, artist question: my work is turning into more of a comic apparently lmao the Plan is currently 6 Pages. Do you have a length limit or similar things? Im sure i could push some things around to make it fit nicely into the bluesky format somehow. I just wanna make sure i do it right before i really really start.
Hey! A comic sounds amazing. Honestly, whatever you feel comfortable doing and completing. Since it will be posted to social media, however you want to format to make sure it looks how you want, it is up to you. We don't have a length limit or anything similar for art. If it comes time to complete the submission form and all of your pages don't fit in the file upload, reach out to us via email and we can handle it together. We can't wait to see your comic!!
Hi! In the email confirming a claim it says "Artists will submit a separate google form with their work file attached". Is the form just to make sure participation has been completed, since we can post the artworks ourselves in september? Thank you<3
Hi! Currently we are planning to provide artists the option to either post the artwork themselves on a date provided by the mods, and tagging the fest so we can repost it, or having the fest post it to our social media accounts. The submission form will include a file upload of a watermarked art piece regardless so that we can ensure your work fulfills the prompt. This file will be deleted after verification, and, if requested to have us post it, after posting. We will not be keeping your artwork saved either way! We're doing this to a.) provide options for artists (there is no right answer in our minds, please choose whatever feels best), and b.) to ensure all work fulfills its prompt. Our submission form will go up on May 29th on our social media accounts, and will be emailed out when submissions are due.
Follow-up question on multiclaim: what does multiclaim mean? (What is the 29th of may for?) And how/where do we submit finished works in order to claim another prompt?
Hi. Multiclaim for us means you may eventually claim more than one prompt in total--but you cannot claim more than one prompt at a time. May 29th isn't specifically a date for claiming another prompt, but it is the "official" beginning for our creation period. Obviously you can start creating before that, but that is when we will post both our submission form and our beta request form. Sorry for any confusion the last Q&A may have caused! Hope that helps clear things up.
This might be obvious haha but just wanna make sure: does multi-claiming after may 29 mean we can claim several prompts at once, without finishing one of the prompts first?
Hi! Additional claims can only take place once someone's current prompt has been completed and submitted. We don't allow people to claim multiple prompts at one time. You can read more about it in our FAQs https://bottomlinofest.notion.site/33def429ceda808f902bd0eed95794c4
Are WIP posts allowed? I didn't see anything one way or the other so I wanted to double check
Hi! It’s in our FAQs, but basically we ask everyone to refrain from public wips or discussions about their fics or art (especially if you’re doing art for a collab with an author) since posting for fics is anonymous! of course you’re welcome to DM with friends—we can’t stop that! but we hope everyone stays a bit secretive so there is some surprise at reveals ^^
Is it okay to ask how many prompt‘s have already been claimed? 🥹 or a stats update on the claimed prompts
Sure! We have 19 partial claims (so claims open for collaborating), 23 complete/full claims, and 6 self-prompts--so a total of 48 claims and going! We're so excited about people's enthusiasm for the fest! Keep the claims coming!
