Hello beautiful mods, I have a question to which the answer is probably that I'm overthinking things, but as I'm writing I'm realizing that while I have hit all of the points in the prompt, it might not be in the way the prompter wanted/expected. Would it be best for me to rewrite some of it, or is it one of those things where once the prompt is claimed interpretation is in the writer's hands? Thanks!
hihi!! without knowing the prompt and the changes we unfortunately cannot give you a definitive answer as to whether or not you need to change some elements of your fic! however, we can tell you that, as a rule of thumb, as long as you've fulfilled the prompt in its entirety, you're free to write the story that you envisioned and add whatever you see fit! if you're unsure, you can always dm us so that we can best help you with the details ^^

hiiii, i have a quick question: what time on the 1st is the deadline to submit our fics?? and most importantly, which timezone? 😭 i'd need the entire weekend to finish editing, and i fear i get blacklisted and won't be able to submit my fic at all if i'm like a couple of hours late

hi hi mods! so if we have an extension but for whatever reason we can’t finish writing in time do we submit the drop form and then have to reclaim in the off season?
hihi!! yes, unfortunately if you can’t submit your fic by the hard deadline you will have to drop out!! but as you’ve said there’s always off season if you’d like (just remember that off season doesn’t have a claiming process, so if it’s not submitted by the deadline, anyone can also write for the same prompt if they want to!)

Hi idk if this has been asked before but if we do need to drop our prompt for whatever reason do we get a confirmation that it has been dropped after submitting the form? kindly a sad not able to finisher

will we receive confirmation our submission was received or should we just assume it was? sorry to bother! just asking since it kinda disappears from a writer perspective after we add it to the collection
hi! we don’t send confirmation emails for submissions but you can check all your works by going to your dashboard. if the fic has been added you’ll be able to see it there! :)

is it okay if i make my slickfest work a part of a series that i develop myself (like the series is independent from the prompt i claim but the slickfest work is a part of it)?
hi there! yes, this is okay as long as your slickfest work is the first work in the series and other parts do not come out until after author reveals! in order to preserve anonymity, we can’t have it be a part of a series that has works with a name attached!! but you are free to continue developing your universe after the fest! ^^
