HIII i'm tv pairing anon first of all thank you so much for taking the time and effort to respond to my query! i loved reading your responses and thoughts about this topic. i absolutely screamed when i read anderperry they are one of my favorite pairings of all time TT i hold them so close to my heart and i agree sooo wholeheartedly i am so so happy that someone has mentioned this because i have thought this for a while too!!!!!! they press each other in just the right way

i haven't seen pitch perfect or haikyuu in a hot minute so i can't contribute much on that end but i am 100% on board the bechloe comparisons. and i feel the same about kagehina/solboo.. i feel like it makes more sense in theory than when you actually look at them together if you get what i mean

i loveeee the katniss and peeta comparison, i think you hit the nail on the head when it comes to what motivates them and the ways their relationship pushes them to grow. one of the main appeals of solboo for me is the way they balance each other out which!! in a similar vein!!!! one of the pairings they remind me of the most are katara and aang from atla (who i kind of consider katniss & peeta variants in a way too lol)

katara at her core is fierce and stubborn, will always stand by what she believes in and do anything to protect her people. she isn't afraid to be empathetic and she is unashamedly herself. aang shares her drive and empathy but where katara may at times act out and be overwhelmed by her (righteous) anger and vengeance, his gentleness and introspection is able to steer her in the right direction and he can be a pillar of support. i just think the way that katara and aang share the same values and are driven by the same thing yet have it present so differently is so solboo....they are able to make up for the areas the other may be lacking in and create a space without pressure or judgement to be themselves, away from the burdens of their roles within the group the trust and faith they have in each other is so 💖 to me. i also see them in finn and rachel from glee. i will not elaborate on that one.
